It has to be magic only the way a mom handles the house! Without her efficient management, things would fall into chaos.

Give children the task to make a “quarantine family album”. They have to click photos everyday of different activities that go on in the house and compile them. In order to make the album interesting, they will consciously do new things. You will also capture memories that will be cherished years later.

As you shower your child with expensive toys and endless love, also show them that every child is not equally lucky. At least once a year, preferably on their birthday, plan a ‘donation drive’ with your child where they can give their clothes, toys, books, etc. to the less privileged. Let’s raise more compassionate human beings.

When they don’t have online classes, you can keep the children occupied with a simple treasure hunt planned around the house. Have simple riddles for clues and write them on chits. You can plant these clues behind the curtain, beneath the sofa, in the cupboard, etc. Execute it in the morning before your child wakes up!

Comparing children with their friends or classmates makes them feel like they are not good enough. Every child is unique. So to make sure that your child reaches his/her full potential, focus on their unique strengths and cheer & appreciate them on even small signs of victory.

Introduce your children to how you spent your childhood. Spend the nights playing classic games like “Antakshri”, “Dumb charades” or “Passing the parcel”. Show them how you didn’t need the internet to have fun!

Spend your evenings creating a story with the family. One person will start with a sentence like “Once upon a time...” Everyone will then add one line to it and continue the story. This fun exercise is great to fuel your child’s imagination and .

The habit of reading needs to be inculcated. Start small and make a deal with your child to read a chapter or just a couple of pages per day in exchange of a treat. Once they get engrossed in a story, they might spend hours with a book rather than with a mobile phone.

Food is not the only thing shared on the dining table. It is a place where the family comes together to share what happened during the day. Even if you are a busy parent, dinner time can be utilised to communicate with and listen to your child.
