Being an anchor is not just “talking on stage.”

It’s part journalist, part detective, part student in perpetual preparation.

You’re constantly reading the room, decoding energy, connecting dots between the brand brief, the audience mood, and the flow of the event. What looks effortless is actually hours of rehearsals, content mapping, building transitions, designing engagement moments, and preparing for the unexpected.

On stage, it becomes a real-time strategy game.
Who will respond? Who needs a nudge? When do you pause, when do you push, when do you pivot?

An anchor is always processing. Observing. Adapting. Creating moments that feel spontaneous but are deeply intentional.

For me, anchoring is also the purest form of presence.
Because when you’re on stage, you can’t afford to be anywhere else.

What I wear is never just an outfit. It is part of the script.

In corporate events, attire is not fashion alone. It is positioning. It is presence. It is the first line I deliver before I even pick up the mic.

Every event demands its own grammar. A certain decorum. A certain edge. A certain story. And somewhere between the brand brief, the client ask and my own comfort lies my signature.

Because style cannot be copy pasted. It only works when it is carried, owned, and lived.

Over time I have realised this. What you wear must carry a piece of you. Your personality. Your energy. Your authenticity.

That is what truly engages even the most stoic room.

I once walked into a room full of CXOs…and within minutes, I knew this was going to be a tough one.
Polite smiles. Zero reactions. That “let’s just get through this” energy. And that is when it hit me, anchoring is not about speaking well.
It is about reading the room.
Understanding what the brand wants to say
and what the audience is actually ready to hear.

So I dropped the script a bit.
Changed the tone.
Asked something unexpected.

Slowly, the room shifted.
People leaned in.
Started engaging.

That is the real work.
Not louder. Not flashier.
Just saying the right things at the right time so it actually lands.
