Mayabazaar makes distinctive jewelry using traditional crafting processes in an urban context.

Mayabazaar has carved its niche in the world of handcrafted jewellery and accessories. It works with grass root level artisans who had given up their tradition of charakkam or handknotting to work as migrant labourers in Mumbai. Infusing their craft with modern designs and unique ideas, Mayabazaar continues to create individual pieces of jewellery and accessories. Each collection is unique in its

Every now and then, someone walks into the studio and the room changes.
This week it was Padma Wadkar — singer, storyteller and keeper of countless melodies.
Between jewellery trays, we spoke about creativity, tradition and the curious ways inspiration arrives when you least expect it.
Thank you for spending time with us, Padma. The music stayed long after the visit ended.

Thalassa is born from the spirit of the sea — where sunlit waves meet treasures hidden in the deep. Crafted with a brass-cast crab, citrine, emerald accents, and richly knotted yarn, the necklace carries the vitality of ocean life and the grounding energy of the earth. Bold yet effortless, it is made to be worn on repeat — from coastal escapes to everyday moments touched by wanderlust.

Molten Waves nearly didn’t happen because apparently finding the right shade of African Prehnite became my production team’s full-time emotional crisis.

Too green. Too dull. Too shiny. Too “spa-stone”.
Several parcels later, mild harassment levels were achieved.

But that’s also how inspiration works sometimes. It arrives from completely unexpected quarters — in this case, watching the sea from a boat and becoming oddly obsessed with the way the waves moved at sunset. Fluid. Molten. Almost metallic for a fleeting second.

Suddenly the Prehnite made sense.

Hand-knotted with freshwater pearls, brass pendants, cotton yarn, and finally-the-right Prehnite, Molten Waves carries that same slow movement and quiet drama of the sea.

Our Isina Phool necklace brings together traditional hand-knotting techniques and contemporary design narratives. Inspired by floral motifs found across old ceremonial jewellery, every bead is individually knotted with jute by hand — a slow process that gives the piece its structure, comfort, and longevity.
Light to wear yet rich in detail, it’s designed for effortless summer styling while quietly carrying forward generations of craftsmanship. When you wear Maya, you wear more than jewellery — you become part of a living craft heritage.

Like summer shadows at golden hour, the Tethra Earring reveals itself slowly — soft, striking, unforgettable.

Handcrafted with ebony wood pendants, zari, and brass nuggets, this lightweight clip-on carries the romance of sea-worn treasures and shimmering fishing nets. Made without hurry, designed to be cherished — comfortable enough to wear long after sunset.

Made for slow summer days and effortless dressing, the Istanbul 3P necklace brings old-world charm to an easy, travel-ready silhouette.
Crafted with composite turquoise, wooden beads, brass nuggets, and antique-inspired brass pendants, it is light, sturdy, and blissfully low-maintenance — no delicate packing, no fuss.
Layer it over breezy dresses, soft sarees, or relaxed summer whites.
Summer jewellery, but with a passport.

The Scalloped Gold Antique Necklace is where metallic yarn meets the artistry of filigree. Two-toned in gold and bronze, this multi-strand design is finished with a soft crochet band that sits snugly and comfortably on your neck. Age-fluid, seasonless, and bold — it’s a piece that redefines statement jewellery.

The Sadna Collar, reimagined in a new palette.
Hand-knotted in cotton yarn with tiger-eye semi-precious stones and freshwater pearls, this piece is all about quiet strength and timeless confidence.

The warmth of tiger-eye meets the softness of pearls — bold yet deeply wearable, striking yet effortless. Designed for you who don’t need excess to make a statement.

Layer it over silk, linen, whites, blacks, or handloom textures — the Sadna Collar returns, again and again, to become that one piece you instinctively reach for.

Hand-knotted perfection.
Crafted slowly. Worn powerfully.
