Had the incredible honor of a private audience with Her Highness Radhika Raje Gaekwad ji, Maharani of Baroda, at the majestic Laxmi Vilas Palace, the world’s largest private residence!
What truly stood larger than the palace itself was her humility and kindness. Our conversation stretched over an hour, and I was deeply moved by her warmth, grace, and vast knowledge from Ayurveda and the arts to her unwavering commitment to social causes. Her continuous efforts to uplift society… especially through initiatives like the Gajra Café, a safe space for the LGBTQ+ community, are nothing short of inspiring.
The day continued with a fun panel discussion at the Vadodara Literature Festival, hosted by IIM-UN, centered on Gen Z and the Future of Our Nation. The energy was electric, the audience incredibly engaging, and the love from Vadodara absolutely unforgettable.
Thank you, Vadodara… I’ll be back for more! ❤️

Apple Vs Apple Milkshake
Which one is better for your gut from Ayurvedic perspective
Milk and apple have opposing qualities. In Ayurveda, we have a concept called rasa, virya, vipaka, and guna.
Rasa means the taste of food.
Virya refers to whether the food is heating or cooling in nature.
Vipaka is the post-digestive effect, and
Guna describes the quality of the food.
Apple is sour and astringent in taste, while milk is sweet.
Apple has a heating potency. Although it seems cooling, it actually stimulates body heat. Milk, on the other hand, cools the body and creates mucus or kapha.
Apple is light, while milk is heavy.
This means apple takes less time to digest because it is light in nature. It also begins breaking down in the mouth due to salivary amylase. Milk, however, contains lactase and casein, which are complex animal-based proteins that require a longer time in the stomach and intestines to digest and break down. Milk reacts with hydrochloric acid in the stomach and forms a semi-solid substance due to the curdling process, allowing it to stay in the gut longer for slow protein breakdown.
When mixed with apple, the citric and malic acids in apple accelerate the curdling of milk. This undigested residue does not get digested, absorbed, or assimilated easily. Apple’s simple sugars begin acting on the milk, enter the small intestine, and can lead to bloating, gas, flatulence, and long-term indigestion.
Occasionally you may not feel discomfort, but repeatedly consuming this wrong food combination can delay gastric emptying, slow digestion, reduce metabolism, increase mucus production, and cause skin issues such as rashes, cold, cough, sinus problems, and allergies.
Stay tuned for more such fun facts from ayurveda on gut health and the science of food combining !

Weddings are a special time… watching four generations come together to celebrate life… blossoming in solidarity, strength, and love.
Did I tell you my grandfather is called — Roy Chand. And he is as royal and royalty gets… He’s my forever guardian angel, my unwavering North Star, guiding me through life’s storms with his radiant light. ⭐️💫
My niece and nephews, the tiny rulers of my heart… brothers and sisters who whisk me back to carefree childhood laughter… their incredible partners who bring the family together… Mom and Dad, aunts and uncles—this is my karmic family.
A soul-chosen tribe I’d embrace again and again, across countless lifetimes, in every breath of existence!
