Dancing Kanchadalayadakshi feels like offering a quiet prayer at the feet of Goddess Kamakshi, where every glance seeks her grace and every movement becomes an expression of devotion. In this piece, I don’t feel like I am only performing, I just surrender to her.
This is one of the earliest pieces I learned from my Guru, it is still my most loved and holds a very special place in my heart.💕
Each movement brings me closer to the compassion and calmness of Mother Kamakshi. To me, this is more than just choreography ,it is sacred and devotional experience.
Choreography by my Guru
Thankful and grateful ma’am.✨💕🙏
Got an opportunity to perform this for 22nd Natyanjali Mahashivratri Dance Festival by Shanmukhapriya trust at Shri Subramania Samaj Temple,Chembur,Mumbai.
Great start of the year!✨
Spending time with myself, revisiting old pieces that once shaped me. Re-choreographing them feels like a quiet conversation between who I was and who I am becoming.
This was my very first solo dance piece, Kautvam, performed at a very young age✨

When poetry pauses and abhinaya begins.
A ghazal, where silence dances!
“Aaj Jaane Ki Zid Na Karo” a ghazal soaked in longing, and quiet surrender held a deeply personal space in my journey as a dancer. Choreographed by my Guru especially for my Rangapravesham and later for my solo debut performance, this piece became more than a composition, it became an experience of abhinaya at its most intimate.
Performing this ghazal on such defining milestones of my dance life felt like an offering a dialogue between music, emotion, and movement, guided by my Guru’s vision and grace.✨

“Every month of 2025 carried a story, a struggle, a smile, and silent gratitude.
Holding them close as I step forward 🤍”

I had the immense privilege of learning this exquisite Khamas Varnam from my Guru ma’am who received it from Respected akka, a priceless legacy passed down by the legendary Yamini Krishnamurthy amma. To be a vessel in carrying forward such a revered tradition fills my heart with deep gratitude and humility.
This varnam was meticulously learnt as a cornerstone of my Rangapravesham, and performing it again for my solo debut in Chennai made the experience even more profound. Every adavu, every sancharam echoed the blessings, discipline, and artistry of generations before me and reminds me that dance is not merely performed, but inherited, nurtured, and offered back with reverence.

15th November,2025- 8 Days to my “Rangapravesham”
As I stand at the edge of this milestone, every practice, correction, smile, and stern glance from you comes back to me. You didn’t just teach me dance, you taught me discipline. You didn’t just teach me abhinaya, you taught me how to feel deeply and honestly. You didn’t just prepare me for a stage, you prepared me for a lifetime with dance.
In these last few days, I realise how much of you lives in my dance. Your patience, your sincerity, your belief in me, even on the days I doubted myself, these are the gifts I carry to the stage.
Thank you for seeing potential in me even before I could see it myself.
Thank you for holding my hand through every struggle, every correction, every moment of growth.
Thank you for giving me a piece of your art, your wisdom, and your heart.
As I step into the spotlight, I know I am not alone, I carry your teachings with every movement.
With gratitude that words can never fully express,
Yours,
always a student
- Sakshi.
