Kathal : where space became story

It all began in December 2021.
A call, a story, and a director with a vision.

Yasho brought with him an instinctive understanding of Madhya Pradesh — its mood, textures, and rhythm. That’s how Kathal started taking shape.

Gwalior gave us winter mornings, back-to-back recces, endless chai, and the thrill of building something from scratch. That’s where Moba began to breathe.

From the power of MLA Pateriya’s house to the calm of Mahima’s cabin, from the newsroom to the dhaba, every space was crafted with purpose, patience, and a little madness.

Yesterday, Kathal won the National Award for Best Hindi Film.
We’re still soaking it all in.
This post is a small tribute to that wild and wonderful journey.

Kathal : tracing the set design journey

If Moba had a spine, this was it.
The shops, the dhabas, the newsrooms, the courtrooms. All stitched together with chaos, colour, and character.

From the fading charm of Gulab Seth’s haveli to the sweetness overload of his Mishthaan Bhandaar, every space had to carry its own history and humour.

And nothing about this was slow. Everything was happening all at once.
Recce here, build there, age that wall, dress that shop, repaint this frame — and still make it all feel cohesive.
That kind of madness only works when the team is this sharp, this efficient, and this madly committed.

From Moba Samachaar to Dadua da Dhaba, from the Sessions Court to the Cyber Cell, every corner was imagined, built, layered, and handed over in high gear.
No time to pause, only to push through and get it done.

And somehow, it all came together. It became Kathal!!

Moments like this make every sleepless night, every bit of chaos, every moment of hustle feel worth it.
We feel so blessed and deeply grateful. 💛
