A Guinness World Record built by thousands of hands.

On 1 March 2019, at the Kumbh in Prayagraj, the Prayagraj Mela Pradhikaran set the GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS title for "the Most contributions to a handprint painting" in 8 hours.

One wall. Countless hands. One message painted in the colours of the nation. Jai Gange. "Hail Mother Ganga".

Colorothon is proud to have collaborated with the Prayagraj Mela Pradhikaran to help make this record happen. Every handprint on this wall is a person who chose to be part of something far bigger than themselves.

This is what colour can do when a whole community shows up.

The Street Food Vendor who sets up before sunrise. The Sadhu who blesses passersby. The child who plays near the boundary wall. The rickshaw puller who carries the city on his back.

We saw them. We painted them.

This is — a public art initiative where the people who live and work near our walls become the subjects of the murals on those very walls. Not celebrities. Not fictional characters. Real faces from real neighbourhoods, immortalised in colour for everyone to see.

Because should reflect the people it lives among.

We believe a city's greatest art isn't in its galleries — it's in the dignity of its people. When you paint the faces of those who are often unseen, you don't just create . You create a monument. You say: you belong here. You matter. Your story is worth telling.
