TEF CANADA EXAM

To score CLB 7 or higher in the TEF exam, you do not need to study every grammar topic in French. The most important things are:

• Working on sentence structures
• Using advanced vocabulary
• Improving your speaking speed and fluency
• Practising regularly in exam conditions

For the speaking section, confidence, spontaneity, and good structures are more important than using very difficult grammar all the time.

The main grammar tenses and structures you should know are:

• Le présent
• Le passé composé
• L’imparfait
• Le plus-que-parfait
• Le futur antérieur
• Le futur simple
• Le conditionnel présent (very important for the speaking section)
• Le gérondif
• Le subjonctif (especially important for the writing section)
• Les pronoms personnels

Instead of trying to master all French grammar, focus on using these structures correctly and naturally in speaking and writing.

Practice every day, improve your vocabulary, and work on expressing your ideas clearly and quickly. That is the key to achieving CLB 7+ in TEF.
