Did it satisfy your ego
when I spit my tattered heart
on plain sheets,
hoping that the crushed blood stains
would land near your feet?
Bit my tongue twice
with no sweet
all because you didn't look twice,
and strode right past me.
Did it satisfy your ego?
because now I don't know how to anastomose my arteries,
I'm a bundle of flaccid muscles;
just another strawberry flavoured gum,
stuck underneath your favourite seat.

In the silence of the twilight,
I'm haunted by the shadows,
It isn't shaped like werewolves,
But a silhouette of a heart,
And it looks so fierce,
It's breaking chains,
And beating so loud,
That the earth is resonating back,
Like a conjunction,
Of two aching souls,
A gush of holy sorrow,
Runs deep in its veins,
Just like the cracks
Accentuating till the core,
The sound of fire crackling,
Everytime I say "No!",
It's pumped up,
Charging for me,
Hunting and waiting,
Licking the edges of my vulnerability,
Should I give in,
Maybe this will end,
Buried deep in the dungeons,
But before my knees buckle,
Could I see your face,
One last time,
Come looking for me,
Even if you can't save me,
Come looking,
Even if you aren't searching,
pretend you are.

You were a teeny tiny bird
and I was your cozy little nest
you were all but happy;
to be a standout from the flock
and I looked after you;
Like a medal on General's chest.

You grew up; in leaps and bounds
comforting yourself with me,
Just to complain, that;
I didn't let you flee?
Now that you've stormed out,
I'm struck under this guilty plea;
I want to bargain myself out of this,
But, how to get rid of this guilt,
breathing under my neck?
You showcased yourself as
something untameable,
I thought it'd take greatest of storms
to unravel you,
But all it took was a gentle wind,
and you bent like an age old willow?
You were so delicate.
I wrapped my hands around you,
In an effort to show you;
that I care,
that how fortunate
it felt to have you around,
I wanted to celebrate;
get lost in your vivid temperament.

But you were just so delicate;
so much so,
that my caring hands
shattered you?
