Tirthan Trails takes its name from the Tirthan valley, situated in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, which in turn takes its name from Tirthan River abounding in trout rich waters. The river originates at Tirath from the icy–cold springs of Hanskund Peak inside The Great Himalayan National Park and flows through one of the richest forest in the western Himalayas.
