NEW ACT from Kolkata

State of play is a happy accident that became a band.

We are four friends in our late thirties who still feel like teenagers, looking for an outlet to get through the next week. State of play is a jam pad, a home studio and an escape into what could’ve been - where we meet every weekend to write, play, record (and then drink till Sunday morning).

We’ve been making music for almost 3 years now. We are still closeted, not quite sure about where we’ll go with this. But one thing we’ve always known is that we want to share our music with the world.

We will be releasing a bunch of demos, and we hope something in them stays with you. If you like what you hear, please share it with your friends - that’s the only algorithm we know.

Here’s the first: What’s Love! Find it on YouTube or Bandcamp

Turn up the volume.

Hideaway x Jamsteady with Sen + Still In Therapy
Saturday, Nov 22 | 8 PM onwards | .goa

returns to Hideaway with two powerhouse live acts, SEN and Still In Therapy, for a night that celebrates raw musicianship, songwriting, and unfiltered emotion.

SEN is a four piece rock ’n’ roll band led by Ananda Sen, the Kolkata based singer, songwriter and guitarist best known as the frontman of The Supersonics, one of India’s most loved indie rock bands from the 2000s. Having headlined major festivals like NH7 Weekender and Harley Rock Riders, and released two acclaimed albums Maby Baking and Heads Up, Sen now steps forward with a new era of sound. His debut solo album Pages From The Past (June 2025) marks a reflective yet electrifying return, produced by the late Miti Adhikari, his long time creative collaborator.
The band features Brad Tellis (guitar, backing vocals), Sharad Rao (guitar, backing vocals), Adil K***a (bass), and Mitch Murray (drums).

Opening the night, Still In Therapy brings a cathartic blend of 80s and 90s feminist subcultures with modern grit. Their music embraces contradictions, rage and softness, grief and vulnerability, creating anthems for feeling everything, fully.
The lineup: Suyasha Sengupta (vocals & guitar), Zubin Pastakia (guitar), Nihar Apte (bass), Akshat Nauriyal (drums).

This will be the most Jamsteady gig experience Goa has ever had. It’s part history and part future. Pre book your tickets for best price: Call 8605541351.

Jamsteady with Ministry of Barricades
Thursday, July 24 | 8 PM onwards
Skinny Mo’s Jazz Club, Kolkata

We love it when live music breaks free from the weekend.
This Thursday, Jamsteady brings you something stirring and powerful.

Ministry of Barricades isn’t just a band. It’s a voice. A voice of the people. Of migration, partition, loss, pain, rebellion, love, and unshaken hope. Drawing from legends like Woody Guthrie, Bob Dylan, Bob Marley, and maverick street poets like Phat Bollard, their songs carry the poetry of dissent and the pulse of protest.

Expect original songs and reimagined anthems, sung with rage, compassion, and conviction.

It’s folk. It’s fire.
Come listen. Come feel.
This one’s for the spirit that won’t stay quiet.

Rs 400 tickets at the door
