World Patient Safety Day at Tangra Clinic

On 17 September, we observed World Patient Safety Day with an awareness session at Tangra Clinic. The session focused on the importance of patient safety and building greater awareness around safe and informed healthcare practices.

We were glad to have 25 participants join the session and engage in this important conversation. Every step towards awareness is a step towards safer care and healthier communities.

Learning, Creating & Exploring with Canva

The Pathshala Education Project, Calcutta Rescue, was delighted to welcome the Canva Education team for an engaging, hands-on workshop on the basics of Canva Education, offered free of cost.

Over 1.5 hours, 22 senior students explored the world of digital design, learning how to turn their ideas into creative visuals and meaningful stories.

A heartfelt thank you to the Canva Education team for sharing their time, knowledge and creativity, and making learning such an inspiring experience for our students.

International Literacy Day Celebration at Pathshala

Pathshala Education Project of Calcutta Rescue celebrated International Literacy Day with enthusiasm and active participation from our students. The day was filled with meaningful and engaging activities, including literacy games, slogan writing, and the “My Learning, My Dream” activity, where students shared their thoughts on why education is important in their lives and how it can help them achieve their dreams.

The celebration concluded with the inspiring “Each One, Teach One” pledge, encouraging our students to share the gift of learning with others.

It was a joyful and meaningful day that reminded us that education is not just about learning - it is about building dreams, confidence and a better future.

From heartfelt performances - songs, dance, and cute little skits - to *handmade cards* and gifts crafted with so much love, our students found beautiful ways to say "thank you" to the teachers who show up for them every single day. 🎁✨

Because at Pathsala, education isn't just about lessons - it's about the bonds, the encouragement, and the belief that every child deserves a chance to shine. 🌟

Celebrating National Sports Day with a perfect blend of mindfulness, movement, learning and teamwork! 🧘‍♀️🧘‍♂️🏏

The day began with meditation and yoga, followed by a brief speech on the significance of National Sports Day and the importance of sports in building discipline, confidence and a healthy lifestyle. The celebrations concluded with an energetic Gully Cricket Tournament, bringing together 6 teams of 5 players each, with boys and girls playing side by side. 🏆✨

A day that reminded us that sports are not just about winning—they are about participation, teamwork, inclusion and the joy of playing together. ❤️

A New Pair of Shoes, A New Step Forward! ❤️

Today, we distributed new school shoes to the students of our Pathshala Education Project.

For many of our students, this was more than just a pair of shoes. Most were coming to school wearing torn and worn-out shoes, while many did not have school shoes at all. The new shoes brought big smiles, happiness and renewed confidence among the children.

A good pair of school shoes may seem like a small thing, but for a child, it means comfort, dignity, confidence and the freedom to learn without worry. 👣📚

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the funder for their generous support in providing these much-needed school shoes to our students. Your kindness has not only provided the children with something they truly needed, but has also given them happiness, confidence and a reason to smile.

Every step matters. Every child matters. Every little support makes a difference.

We celebrated Raksha Bandhan with lots of joy, laughter, and togetherness. 😊✨ A beautiful day filled with love, cherished moments, and the spirit of sibling bonds. ❤️

Independence is not only about the freedom we inherited. It is also about the responsibility we carry to build a country where every child can dream, every family can live with dignity, and every individual has the opportunity to move forward.

For me, the spirit of India lives in service, compassion and collective responsibility. In every effort to make healthcare more accessible, education more meaningful and communities stronger, we contribute to the India we wish to see.

This Independence Day, let us celebrate our freedom by giving it greater meaning through the lives we touch and the difference we make.
