In the film Soham Chakraborty delivers a sincere performance, embodying seven distinct characters a first in Bengali cinema though some critics note his portrayal is hampered by melodramatic writing. Idhika Paul shines as Uttara, bringing a refreshing presence, while Kamaleswar Mukherjee’s swaggering role as Brishabhaditya steals scenes. Supporting actors like Debolina Dutta, Bharat Kaul, and Loknath Dey add depth. Bahurup is a bold experiment in Bengali cinema with a unique premise and strong performances, particularly from Idhika Paul and Kamaleshwar Mukherjee. However, its complex narrative and uneven ex*****on make it a mixed bag worth a watch for thriller fans.

Kankana Chakraborty's Re-Routing is a captivating psychological thriller that, through the events of a single night, portrays the unpredictable turns of life and the deep-seated self-centeredness of human nature. In this 35-minute black and white film, the director, through the characters Kuhoo ( Kankana) and Avinash ( Barun Chanda ), tells a story of life’s struggles, the pursuit of independence, and overcoming obstacles. Kankana’s acting and direction are both commendable, and Barun Chanda’s performance is outstanding. The film touches on the question of finding a “re-route” in life, leaving viewers introspective. Eagerly awaiting Kankana’s next work.
