An earthen residence on a forestry farm for clients committed to feasible living Represents a harmonious marriage of environmental awareness and conventional Craftsmanship. The clients' dedication to sustainable living has prompted Bhutha's team to design an Abode that corresponds with their everyday surroundings and epitomises sustainability Standards. The house's design prioritises constructing a symmetrical living space that encourages Interaction between family members and linking up with the surrounding environment. The central courtyard serves as the heart of the domestic, giving a visual network to all Spaces on both the ground floor and the first floor. This form improves the stream of Natural light and ventilation.

Nestled within the embrace of this architectural masterpiece, the symbolic resonance of lilies becomes a profound embodiment of purity and tranquility. Enveloped by lush lily ponds, this residence becomes a sanctuary, an oasis of serenity meticulously crafted to offer respite to its inhabitants after the relentless demands of a bustling day. This tropical haven, seemingly suspended in an ethereal equilibrium, is a manifestation of understated luxury, where a palette of varied wooden tones and vernacular-inspired forms converges to create an immersive experience.

XANADU is a thoughtfully designed home tailored to the unique needs of a family of advocates. Despite the challenges of a narrow plot, the design successfully incorporates all their desired elements. A dedicated office space provides a professional workspace, while three spacious and well-appointed bedrooms ensure comfort for the entire family.

A defining feature of XANADU is its art-inspired interiors, which bring a creative and elegant touch to the home. At its heart lies a serene courtyard, enhanced by a stunning spiral staircase. This tranquil retreat seamlessly blends the indoor and outdoor environments, offering the family a peaceful space to relax and connect with nature.

The 2,700 sq. ft. west-facing site in Nutan Nagar, one of Rajkot's oldest and most prestigious neighborhoods, is centrally located and highly valued. The site originally housed a residence where the client cherished childhood memories. With the family's growth, it became essential to replace the old structure with a new home that subtly balances modern and contemporary architecture. The design embraces clean forms and functional spaces, creating a harmonious backdrop for the family's evolving lifestyle. In Rajkot, where proximity to the city center is highly sought after, the land's premium value underscores the significance of this transformation.

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐃𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐩𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

This penthouse design embodies the essence of a traditional family deeply connected to the cultural roots of town and village life. Built on an existing blank slab atop a commercial structure, it sits on a 9’ x 10’ column grid, with 35’ x 90’ of space available on the second floor for the residence. The building’s south-facing facade opens onto the town’s main road, bordered by retail shops and a school on the lower floor. Across the road, a boys' hostel and family residences create a lively neighborhood atmosphere.

Our architectural challenge was to craft a south-facing facade that would honor the family’s desire for a traditional aesthetic while incorporating modern living amenities. The goal was to create a harmonious blend of functionality and cultural expression, capturing the spirit of village architecture within a contemporary, urban setting.
