It's been a splendid Ride so far and we plan to ride on further ...

Unfortunately we have had to shut down the cafe for a bit.. But we hope to be back soon and serve you all better as soon as we find a suitable place.

We would be closed from the 1st of March 2019.

The motorcycle which stole the hearts of many bikers. I had it once but no more ... featured here is my friend Shrawan's bike. Rajdoot RD 350 aka YAMDOOT 😈 (YAMaha -- rajDOOT), is a 2 stroke motorcycle made in India by Escorts group from 1983 to 1989. RD stands for 'Race derived' , in India promoted by Rajdoot in collaboration with Yamaha Japan.

The engine is an air cooled, parallel twin, six-speed, reed valve - equipped intake two stroke engine.

It is a licensed copy of the Yamaha RD350B, modified to suit Indian conditions. Even though the production of the air-cooled Yamaha RD350 had ended in Japan in the mid-1970s due to stringent emissions norms, it was a technically advanced motorcycle in the Indian market in 1983. -- Wikipedia.

Unfortunately, the production ended in 1990 due to its low sale figures. High consumption of fuel (compared to other bikes in those days), high purchase price, poor availability of expensive spare parts and lack of trained service personnel were the causes of its demise in India.

Two riders walked into the cafe one evening. Welcomed them and we started talking about the motorcycles...turns out I was speaking to the President of Royal Enfield Riders Association of Meghalaya (RERAM). Very humbled to have met such down to earth humble guys. They will meet the rest of the riders in Sikkim for the NERM 2018. @ Cafe Refuel - Kalimpong
