She comes from the family of creatives and tailrs. After some years of training and playing around with fabrics, she found herself having this idea and Shibumi was born. It is a home of beautiful Silk & Cashmere desgins based in Gloucestershire, UK.
Ruth Guise started Shibumi out of her love for textiles in 2004, after living in India for some time. She wanted to inspire people to wear coats and jackets casually, rather than hiding them away for 'special' occasions. She designs all by herself and they also design their own fabrics in the silk and embroidered silk, something you'll definitely not find anywhere else.
