Today's morning came with a great surprise, when I found a news story published in today's Danik Bhaskar newspaper about my travelogue series “Desert Calling” . Thanks to dear Chandradeep for bringing back such nostalgic memories which for me are a lifetime experience. I will like to add here that it was way back in 1999 during the filming of a documentary on the world famous Desert Festival in Jaisalmer when the basic idea of making this series came to my mind and I started working on it and dreaming about it and it took about 9 years to bring this dream a reality when Respected Mrs. Sudha Gupta ji , the then station director Doordarshan Jaipur asked to make a documentary series on tourism of Rajasthan. I shared my idea with her and she immediately granted me the necessary approvals and asked me to go ahead. That is how this series came into existence. But I would like to mention here that the making of this 73 episode travelogue series, said to be the first and only series of Doordarshan India, having been shot entirely (100%) on actual locations and with a single ENG camera unit.
I would like to mention here that the making of such a series would not have been possible without the full cooperation of all my seniors and the hard work and full dedication of the crew members, artists and everyone who was in any way directly or indirectly connected with the making of this series. So on this occasion I wish to pay my heartfelt gratitude and thank everyone for making this series so successful. One person whom I wish to name here is Mr Pradeep Chakraborty, the DOP of the series for his hard work and dedication as cinematographer. It was his willingness to accept challenges of most difficult and risky shots that I would conceive and share with him. That is why his cinematography has become the backbone of this series. Not only him but all other crew members were no less. So thank you all once again.

It gives me immense pleasure and a feel of honour to share with all my friends in general and my team members in particular, that my latest project - a documentary on the Great Indian Bustard, titled as "IN SEARCH OF GODAWAN” after having received an International award - The Spotlight Silver Award at the Spotlight Documentary Film Awards-2018 held at Atlanta Georgia,USA in June-2018, and also getting selected at International Short Film Festival (SFF) held at London, UK in Oct. 2018, has now been got selected at the 7th. Mumbai Shorts International Film Festival (MSIFF)-2018, being held in first week of December-2018, at Mumbai, India. The credit of this achievement goes to the entire team of crew and associates who were directly or indirectly involved in making of this film. I wish to thank them all.

I feel pleasure in sharing here that my documentary film on & about the Great Indian Bustard titled "IN SEARCH OF GODAWAN" after having been awarded with Silver Award during the Spotlight Documentary Films Awards - 2018, USA, has now been selected by International Short Film Festival SFF being held at LOndon, UK in Oct. 2018. The credit of this achievement goes to the entire team of crew and associates who were directly or indirectly involved in making of this film. I wish to thank them all.
