Jaipurites will soon get a Pink City outside the Walled City. The Jaipur Municipal Corporation (JMC) has selected Barkat Nagar colony which would be developed as the new Pink City in many terms. The JMC has already started painting main market and houses of the locality in pink colour.and, it is not just the pink colour that Barkat Nagar will get as the Corporation plans to start a night bazaar in

Chief minister Vasundhara Raje said that together with the people’s coordination she can change the picture of Rajasthan. After the inauguration, she inspected the one-kilometre long market in an open gypsy and said that the government was committed to develop markets and facilities in the state.

Do you know? Both the sides of the market, shops and houses, have been painted pink with white borders to give the market a look similar to that of walled city bazaars like Chaura Rasta, Johri Bazar and others.

In total there are 398 shops officially as declared by JMC and allotment of the shop numbers would start from 15th June.
