RHEL Version 6.4 includes new features for interoperation with Microsoft products and file system improvements

Red Hat has released Enterprise Linux 6.4, a beta that deploys a number of new features, many of which are focused on interoperability with the Microsoft ecosystem.

A new integration between RHEL's system security services daemon and Active Directory should make it easier to control identity management in IT environments that feature both RHEL and Windows, the company said in its announcement

Microsoft is offering Windows 8 upgrades priced at just $39.99USD/£24.99 for anyone using an existing product. The offer will be open until January 31 and after that the OS will cost a higher price.

Windows 8 is the current release of the Windows operating system, produced by Microsoft for use on personal computers, including home and business desktops, laptops, tablets, and home theater PCs. Development of Windows 8 started before the release of its predecessor in 2009. Its existence was first announced at CES 2011, and followed by the release of three pre-release versions from September 2011 to May 2012. The operating system was released to manufacturing on August 1, 2012, and was released for general availability on October 26, 2012.[3]

Windows 8 introduces significant changes to the operating system's platform, primarily focused towards improving its user experience on mobile devices such as tablets to rival other mobile operating systems (such as Android and iOS),[4] taking advantage of new and emerging technologies (such as USB 3.0, UEFI firmware, near field communications, cloud computing, and the low-power ARM architecture), new security features (such as malware filtering, built-in antivirus software, and support for secure boot, a controversial UEFI feature which requires operating systems to be digitally signed to prevent malware from infecting the boot process), along with other changes and performance improvements.

Windows 8 also introduces a new shell and user interface based on Microsoft's "Metro" design language, featuring a new Start screen with a grid of dynamically updating tiles to represent applications, a new app platform with an emphasis on touchscreen input, the new Windows Store to obtain and purchase applications for the system, and the ability to synchronize programs and settings between multiple devices.

Twitter launched an interactive map to shine a spotlight on which of the presidential candidates' tweets gain the most traction in different areas of the country.

As election day nears, President Barack Obama and his Republican challenger, Mitt Romney, are tweeting about a wide variety of issues - job creation, women's health and foreign policy. A big question, though, is what tweets, and what topics, are catching people's attention.

Twitter is offering voters, and the campaigns, a look at what issues are the most important to voters with a new interactive map.

"Prominent issues in this year's campaign range from Pell Grants for students to Medicare for the elderly, from coal production to clean energy," wrote Miguel Rios, a member of Twitter's analytics team. New DDR4 specification sets the stage for new DRAM in computers

The final specification of DDR4 DRAM, which will help PCs run faster through more power-efficient data transfers, was published Tuesday.

Digilite, motherboard brand of Smartlink Network Systems, has launched three new motherboards, DL-H61MXP, DL-H61M-PS3 and DL-H61M-VS3 in H61 segment. All the new motherboards support Intel third generation Core i7/Core i5/Core i3 Ivy bridge processors.

The company plans to target DGS&D / government segment with DL-H61MXP; SMB and BFSI segment with DL-H61M-PS3; and end consumers with DL-H61M-VS3.

“With festive season approaching, we are geared to meet rising demand in the market. We are introducing new range of motherboards in performance and mainstream category,” said Rajan Sharma, VP, Sales, Digilite.

DL-H61MXP, DL-H61M-PS3 and DL-H61M-VS3 are available with 3-year warranty at a street price of Rs 3,050, Rs 2,950 and Rs 2,850, respectively.

Seagate has introduced the Seagate Cloud Builder Alliance, a new strategic partner category within the existing Seagate Partner Program. The Seagate Cloud Builder Alliance targets system builders that design, integrate, and deliver custom servers and storage systems used in cloud data centers.

Through the Cloud Builder Alliance, partners will receive business and technology planning, sales and marketing resources, lead generation, training and certification, and system reference design development from Seagate Design Centers, globally.
