29th May,1953 The day when human beings could reach the summit of the Great Mt Everest, the Highest place on this planet.
It was Edmund Hilary and Tenzing Norgay who were the pioneers.

Indian climber Subrata Ghosh, 45, from West Bengal, died near the Hillary Step while descending Mt Everest yesterday, 15.05.2025. Ghosh summited late, around 2 p.m., and became exhausted during descent, showing signs of altitude sickness and refusing to move. His guide, Champal Tamang, reported the incident after returning to Camp IV. Ghosh was part of the Krishnanagar–Snowy Everest Expedition 2025. Recovery efforts are ongoing.
