Skimming, my first nature!
Here, an Indian skimmer was caught doing what it does best: skimming on the river surface. These incredible and unique birds are endangered and need our attention for their continued survival.

Grey-fronted green pigeon (Treron affinis) is found in the Western Ghats of India and has striking colours on its pallette. It belongs to the 'pompadour green pigeon complex' and is largely a frugivore and granivore. Here, while a huge flock of hornbills was feeding high up on the fruiting tree, this individual decided to crash the party!

Holi on my mind!
The Oriental dwarf kingfisher (Ceyx erithaca) is a gem of a bird and it is not surprising to see why! This tiny riot of colours is best seen during monsoons near streams with mud banks where it often nests. Here, this parent kept fetching assorted snacks for it's young one.

Taking off!
The little cormorant (Microcarbo niger) is a common water bird, found near wetlands. This is one of the few birds which can be seen spreading its wings after a dive. If you have seen a blackish bird drying it's wings like this, it's almost surely a cormorant! Here, while on a boat ride, this bird first walked on water and then took off!
