On the occasion of the 53rd World Environment Day, under the mission "Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam – Nomo Von", a plantation drive was organised by the Dima Hasao West Division Forest Department. I had the privilege of joining the drive along with Shri Tuhin Langthasa, DFO, West Division, Dima Hasao, at Daotuhaja Constituency.

I had the honour of attending the 75th Foundation Day celebration of the Dima Hasao Autonomous Council — Assam’s oldest Autonomous Council — at Haflong. The event was graced by Hon’ble CEM Shri Debolal Gorlosa, Hon’ble Chairman Shri Mohet Hojai, Hon’ble MLA Smti Rupali Langthasa, Deputy Chairman Shri Ngulminlal Lienthang, MAC & BJP District President Shri Dhriti Thaosen, and other dignitaries including EMs, MACs, Padma Shri awardees, Mauzadars, Gaon Buras, and representatives of apex bodies, NGOs, and student organisations.

The programme showcased Dima Hasao’s unity in diversity through cultural performances by various tribes. Key highlights were the inauguration of the DHAC Court Library Room, release of Dimasa medium textbooks, felicitation of meritorious students, enhanced remuneration for Gaon Buras, and awards for Best Farmer and Best Homestay.

I commend the DHAC team for organising a dignified and memorable celebration.
