🌍 World Day Against Child Labour | 12 June 2026

On the occasion of the World Day Against Child Labour, Centre for Integrated Development (CID) organized a series of awareness activities across Gwalior to promote child rights and encourage a child labour-free society.

The campaign included:
✅ Awareness Rallies
✅ Human Chains
✅ Street Plays (Nukkad Natak)
✅ Community & Youth Meetings
✅ Wall Writing Activities
✅ Pamphlet Distribution
✅ Drawing Activities for Children

Activities were conducted in Shankarpur, Bara, Kishanbagh, Subhash Nagar, Khajanchi Baba, Apaganj, Mandre Ki Mata, Noorganj, and Indranagar.

📌 Key Participation Highlights:
• 110 participants joined awareness rallies
• 120 participants formed human chains
• 170 children participated in drawing activities
• 90 youth attended awareness meetings
• 85 community members participated in community meetings
• 15 volunteers performed a street play, reaching over 150 community members
• 18 youth actively participated in wall-writing campaigns

A multi-stakeholder meeting was also organized at the Office of the Assistant Labour Commissioner, Gwalior, bringing together representatives from the Labour Department, Women & Child Development Department, Special Juvenile Police Unit, community organizations, and trade associations to strengthen collective efforts against child labour.

Together, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that every child enjoys their right to education, protection, and a safe childhood.

To celebrate World Environment Day on 5 June 2026, the Centre for Integrated Development (CID) engaged in community-led awareness drives. Activities included knowledge classes, street plays, art competitions, seed ball making, and the distribution of educational flyers, all aimed at fostering environmental protection and ecological sustainability.

In this series, another activity is organized at Education support centre and Computer centre at Khajanchi Baba. The activity was supported by Abhaydan Trust.

Today, on 5 June 2026, Centre for Integrated Development (CID) observed World Environment Day across various community areas through its Bal Panchayat and Youth Groups. A range of activities, including street plays, drawing competitions, poster pasting, seed ball making, template distribution, and pamphlet distribution, were organized to raise awareness about environmental protection and ecological sustainability.

Members of the Bal Panchayat and Youth Groups actively participated in planning and facilitating these activities, demonstrating their leadership and commitment to environmental conservation. Through creative and interactive approaches, they shared important messages on keeping the environment clean, reducing pollution, conserving natural resources, and promoting tree plantation.

The activities helped community members understand the impact of pollution, water scarcity, and environmental degradation on their daily lives and well-being. Community members appreciated the efforts of the children and youth and expressed their willingness to support environmental protection initiatives.

The event was successful in promoting environmental awareness, strengthening community engagement, and encouraging collective responsibility towards creating a cleaner, greener, and healthier environment.

On the occasion of World No To***co Day, 31st May 2026, Centre for Integrated Development conducted an awareness program at Khajanchi Baba yesterday. There are 46 participants, including youth, SHG members, and community members, who joined us to take a pledge for a to***co-free society.

Highlights of the activity:
✅ Discussed the dangers of to***co: cancer, heart disease, stroke, TB. 13-14 lakh deaths occur in India every year due to to***co.
✅ ***coExposed: Unmasked how companies target youth with e-cigarettes, flavored products, and flashy packaging.
✅ Shared the National To***co Quitline: 1800-11-2356 for help to quit.
✅ All participants took an oath to quit to***co and motivate others.

In MP, 34.2% of adults still consume to***co. We are committed to changing this statistic, one step at a time. The grip of to***co addiction can be broken! 💪

On 30th April 2026, amid the intense summer heat, the Centre for Integrated Development (CID), in collaboration with Abhay Dan Trust, undertook a compassionate initiative by distributing bottles of cold drinking water in the Khajhanchibaba area.

This thoughtful effort provided much-needed relief to over 200 individuals, including children, daily wage labourers, street vendors, and passersby—groups particularly vulnerable to heat-related stress. Recognizing the critical importance of hydration during peak summer temperatures, CID ensured that clean and cool drinking water was readily accessible to those who needed it most.

Such proactive initiatives not only address immediate needs but also foster a spirit of community care and collective responsibility. They highlight the importance of supporting one another, especially during extreme weather conditions.

National Anti-Child Labour Day 2026: A Step Towards Change Through Awareness

On the occasion of National Anti-Child Labour Day, observed on 30 April 2026, awareness programs were organized across various Support Education Centers—Kishan Bagh, Shankarpur, Subhash Nagar, Bara, Indira Nagar, Khajanchi Baba, Mandre Ki Mata, Noorganj, and Aapaganj.

The primary objective of these programs was to eliminate child labour, promote girls’ education, and encourage shopkeepers and the local community to refrain from engaging children in labour.

To spread awareness within the community, several activities were conducted, including pamphlet distribution, wall writing, street plays, rallies, human chains, and orientation sessions. These initiatives provided detailed insights into the harmful effects of child labour and the measures required for its eradication.

At the Subhash Nagar center, members of the Bal Panchayat and youth groups presented a street play. The program was graced by Ward Councillor Saeeda Asif Ali as the Chief Guest, and was chaired by the Headmistress of Government Primary School, Rama Ji Ka Pura.

At the Khajanchi Baba center, children from the tailoring and computer centers, along with Bal Panchayat members and youth, formed a human chain and organized a large rally. Awareness materials related to child labour were distributed during the rally.

At the Indira Nagar center, an orientation program was conducted in the presence of Zakir Hussain, senior staff member of Government High School Awarpura, and Anjana Sharma, Headmistress of the Primary School.

In total, approximately 490 children and 90 youth actively participated in these programs.

Through these initiatives, significant efforts were made to raise awareness about child labour within the community and to connect children with the mainstream education system.

The success of the program was made possible by the valuable contributions of Project Coordinator Mustaq Ahmed Khan, Communication Officer Rohit Gupta, Supervisors Imran Khan, Reshma Khan, Yusuf Khan, Social Workers Arvind Kushwaha and Rakesh, Instructor Anjani Ji, and team members Neha, Farah, Shehnaz, Sakir, Shabana, Mumtaz, Nagma, Julekha, Rizwana, Sangeeta, Asna, and others.
