CLASS 10 LIGHT | Important Questions Answered
Q11. Why violet light deviates more than red light? [n_violet = 1.53 > n_red = 1.50]
Q13. What happens to ciliary muscles when you see far vs near objects? [Accommodation of eye]
Q14. Does speed of light change in a prism? What is angle of deviation? Prism vs Glass Slab?
Complete explanation with correct diagram (Fig 10.4 NCERT) in the image.
Note: For far away object, ciliary muscles RELAX and focal length INCREASES (lens becomes thin, less curved). Many students write it wrong!

Understanding the Thomson Atomic Model - The First Modern Atomic Model
After discovering the electron in 1897, J.J. Thomson proposed in 1904 that:
An atom consists of a sphere of positive charge
Negatively charged electrons are embedded in it
The positive and negative charges balance, so the atom is neutral
Often called the Plum Pudding or Watermelon Model
It was later disproved by Rutherford's Gold Foil Experiment, but it was the crucial first step towards our modern understanding of the atom.
I made this infographic to make the basics crystal clear for Class 9-12 students. Feel free to share it with students who need it.
What was the biggest limitation of this model according to you?
From Average Value to RMS Value, these notes cover the most important concepts and formulas you need for exams.
