Haven't we all heard the story of the Buddha not accepting the curses and abuse hurled at him by a young man. Buddha's calm response was "The abusive words came from you young man. If I don't accept them, they go back to where they came from."
The same applies to people who hurl labels and criticize others.
It hurts when people we love, give us labels. Its time to confront them. Be assertive and make them aware of the damage they cause and how it makes you feel.
