Who is Sankardeva? And why is he important even today ?

Born in a period (15th century) in Bordowa of Nagaon where caste discrimination, social evils, superstitions polytheism , sati practise, child marriage,mughal Empirical rules and wars enveloped the country separating humans based on prejudices and hatred

He alone stood and fought for a better world and revived humanism!

He was the first Assamese socio -religious reformer who through his writings, poems, and devotional songs preached to the world the idea of Monotheism : ek sarana Naam Dharma "

He is the founder of Neo -Vaishnavism who taught us humanity love and compassion that We are all one and the children of one God and played a crucial role in the Bhakti movement

His devotion to Lord vishnu(param brahma) was so intense pure and unconditional that today he rose from a normal human being to a "MAHAPURUSHA"(divine being) among the assamese community . Today he is regarded as the saintly poet and is the most revered and loved among the people of Assam

He was the first ever radical thinker first liberal first literary genius who left behind a rich cultural heritage and whose spiritual sacred writings are sang and worshipped by thousands assamese today .

Let his teachings and legacy live in heart for eternity !
