Rheology and Extrusion Printing of κ-Carrageenan/Olive Oil Emulsion Gel Tablets with Varying Surface Area to Volume Ratios for Release of Vitamin C and Curcumin 29/07/2024

Our new article on Rheology and extrusion printing of K-carrageenan/olive oil emulsion tablets focuses on how the dual drugs, vitamin c and curcumin release behaviour varies with change in their surface to volume ratios. Check out this interesting article through the link below 👇

Rheology and Extrusion Printing of κ-Carrageenan/Olive Oil Emulsion Gel Tablets with Varying Surface Area to Volume Ratios for Release of Vitamin C and Curcumin In this work, κ-carrageenan and olive oil at different oil to κ-carrageenan ratios (OCR) are homogenized to create emulsion gels. Interestingly, confocal imaging shows that the oil droplets are stabilized in the κ-carrageenan-structured gel matrix without using any surfactants. Rheological studie...

Self-healing, injectable chitosan-based hydrogels: Structure, properties and biological applications 13/06/2024

Check out our new collaborative review article with prof. Dhiraj Bhatia's group on Self-healing, injectable chitosan-based hydrogels: Structure, properties and biological applications.
The review also highlights incorporation of self-healing nature to the widely experimented chitosan biopolymer with various chemical strategies. Click the link below to read it.

Self-healing, injectable chitosan-based hydrogels: Structure, properties and biological applications Conventional biomaterials suffer from mechanical stresses and biochemical degradation, compromising performance and structural integrity. Unlike hydrogels, they cannot repair their inherent structure after damage due to the absence of reversible bonds, but these hydrogels can withstand and reverse d...
