Legal Awareness & Elder Abuse Programmes – Ganderbal District

Marking World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, the District Legal Services Authority (JAGRITI Unit), in collaboration with She Hope Society for Women Entrepreneurs, has launched a three-day awareness campaign across Ganderbal, Lar, and Kangan.
The initiative focuses on empowering communities by highlighting the rights and entitlements of persons with disabilities and ensuring protection, dignity, and justice for senior citizens.
The journey began on 15th June in Ganderbal, where participants connected deeply with the stories shared by resource persons and left feeling empowered with vital knowledge about their legal rights. The campaign continued on 16th June in Lar, drawing a large turnout of senior citizens who warmly appreciated the sincerity and dedication of DLSA and She Hope Society in safeguarding their rights.
The final programme will be held on 18th June in Kangan, carrying forward this mission of awareness and empowerment.
Together, we strive for a society where every voice matters, every right is protected, and every individual lives with dignity.
