"Gandhiji, The Mahatma" class V - A Detailed Discussion

Let's read.. (পড়া যাক্)

One day (এক দিন) a (একটি) little (ছোট্ট) boy (বালক/ছেলে) visited ( গিয়েছিল বা সাক্ষাৎ করেছিল) Mahatma Gandhi.

(একদিন একটি ছোট্ট ছেলে মহাত্মা গান্ধীর কাছে গিয়েছিল।)

Gandhiji's (গান্ধীজীর) dress (পোশাক) surprised (বিস্মিত বা অবাক করেছিল) the boy (ছেলেটিকে). (গান্ধীজীর পোশাক তাকে অবাক করে দিয়েছিল।)
"Such (এই রকম) a (একটি) great (মহান) man (মানুষ) without (ছাড়া) a shirt ( জামা ) !” he (সে) wondered বিস্ময় প্রকাশ করল), (

(সে (অর্থাৎ ছেলেটি) বিস্ময় প্রকাশ করল যে এই রকম একটি মহান মানুষ জামা ছাড়া!)

“Why (কেন) don't you (আপনি) wear (পরিধান করা বা পরা) a shirt (জামা), Gandhiji?” the little (েেছাাট্ট) boy (বালক বা ছেলে) asked (জিজ্ঞাসা করল).

(ছেলেটি গান্ধীজীকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল,”আপনি কেন জামা পরেন না?)
“Where (কোথায়) is (হয়) the money (টাকা), son (বাছা)?” Gandhiji asked ( জিজ্ঞাসা করল) gently (শান্ত ভাবে). গান্ধীজী শান্তভাবে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, “বাছা, টাকা কোথায়?” “। (আমি) am (হই) very ( খুব) poor (গরীব)। (আমি)

cannot (পারিনা) buy (কিনতে) a (একটি) shirt (জামা)”

(আমি খুব গরীব। আমি একটা জামা কিনতে পারি না।)

The boy (ছেলেটি) felt (অনুভব করল) pity (করূণা বা দুঃখ).

(ছেলেটি দুঃখ পেল।)

“My (আমার) mother (মা) sews (সেলাই করে) well (ভাালো), he (সে) said ( বলল).

(সে (অর্থাৎ ছেলেটি) বলল,”আমার মা ভালো সেলাই করে।))

“She (সে অর্থাৎ ছেলেটির মা) makes (তৈরী করে) all (সব) my (আমার) clothes (পোশাক).

(সে (অর্থাৎ ছেলেটির মা) আমার সব পোশাক তৈরী করে।)

। (আমি) will ask জিজ্ঞাসা করবই বা বলবোই) her (তাকে অর্থাৎ ছেলেটির মাকে) to sew (সেলাই করতে) a (একটি) shirt (জামা) for you (আপনার জন্য).

(আমি তাকে আপনার জন্য একটা জামা তৈরী করতে বলবই)

"How many (কতগুলি) shirts (জামা) can (পারা) your (তোমার) mother (মা) make তৈরী করা)?” Gandhiji asked (জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন).
(গান্ধীজী জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন,” তোমার মা কতগুলি জামা তৈরী করতে পারেন?)

"Just (শুধু) tell (বলুন) me (আমাকে) how many (কতগুলি) you need (আপনার দরকার)?”, said (বলল) the boy (ছেলেটি).

ছেলেটি বলল, “শুধু আমাকে বলুন আপনার কতগুলি দরকার?”

She (সে অর্থাৎ ছেলেটির মা) will make তৈরী করবেন) as many as (যতগুলি) you আপনি) want (চান) ".

আপনি যতগুলি চান যতগুলিই তৈরী করবেন তিনি (অর্থাৎ ছেলেটির মা)।

Gandhiji thought (ভাবলেন বা চিন্তা করলেন) for (জন্য)a (এক) moment ( মুহূর্ত)

(গান্ধীজী এক মুহূর্ত ভাবলেন)।

Then (তারপর) he (তিনি অর্থাৎ গান্ধীজী) said বললেন), “I have (আমার আছে a (একটি) very (খুব) large (বড়ো) family (পরিবার), son (বাছা).

তারপর তিনি বললেন, “আমার খুব বড় একটি পরিবার আছে।”

I have (আমার আছে) forty crore (কোটি) brothers (ভাই) and sisters (বোন)”

(আমার চল্লিশ কোটি ভাই বোন আছে)

" “Till (যতক্ষণ না) everyone ( প্রত্যেকে) of them (তাদের) has a shirt (জামা), how (কিভাবে) can (পারি) । (আমি) wear (পরিধান করা) one (একটি জামা) ?” Gandhiji asked ( জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন).

(যতক্ষণ না তারা প্রত্যেকে একটি করে জামা পায়, ততক্ষণ আমি কী করে একটি জামা পরি?)
The reply (উত্তর টি) surprised (অবাক করে দিল) the boy (ছেলেটি কে). Forty (চল্লিশ) crore (কোটি) brothers and sisters!

(উত্তর টি ছেলেটিকে অবাক করে দিল।)

Gandhiji was (ছিলেন) right (সঠিক). After all (সর্বোপরি), Gandhiji felt (অনুভব করলেন) all (সব) the people (জনগণ) of (র/এর) India (ভারত) were (ছিলেন) his family (পরিবার) members (সদস্য)

গান্ধীজী সঠিক ছিলেন। সর্বোপরি, গান্ধীজী বুঝেছিলেন বা অনুভব করেছিলেন ভারতের সব জনগণ তার পরিবারের সদস্য।
