Honoured to meet and interact with the legendary Manisha Koirala ji today in Kathmandu, Nepal.
It was truly heartwarming to hear her speak so warmly about the deep cultural and traditional ties between Nepal and India, and the enduring soft power that binds our people together.
From 1942: A Love Story to Bombay to Dil Se.., we have long admired her extraordinary craft and contribution to Indian cinema. I was especially delighted to learn that she loved Dhurandhar, and that her respected mother had watched the film four times.
I was also glad to know that she was familiar with my work through X and had followed my reportage and journalism. That made our interaction all the more special.

India-Israel Identify Joint Defence Projects within the Special Strategic Partnership to build Joint Resilience
New Defence Framework: India and Israel are finalising a Special Strategic Partnership covering co-production of defence systems, joint development of next-generation military technologies, and emergency procurement mechanisms activated during conflict or national security crises to build joint resilience.
High-Level Delegation: Israel’s Ministry of Defence Director General Maj. Gen. (Res.) Amir Baram led a high-level defence delegation to New Delhi, meeting Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Defence Secretary Rajesh Kumar Singh, and the Chief of Defence Staff.
Six Months in the Making: Both governments have spent the last six months identifying specific joint projects, establishing timelines, and building the operational architecture of the partnership with finalisation expected soon following the Modi-Netanyahu directive.
Industry Loop-In: At a dinner hosted by Israeli Ambassador Reuven Azar, leaders from India’s public and private defence industry were directly addressed, signalling that India’s defence industrial base will be a core participant not just a government-to-government deal.

Happy Father’s Day to my dad Utpal Kaul! 🙏❤️
Every day of my life is a tribute to his love, teachings, warmth, courage, empathy, and devotion.
In the 37 years we’ve spent together, he has stayed true to a few unwavering mantras - from his temple (Thokurkut) to his activism for Dharma, from cherishing family and friends to his lifelong love of books, knowledge, and the wisdom he generously shares with the world. The way he gives his love and joy so equally - to family and strangers alike - is sometimes almost frustrating in its boundlessness. Yet that is simply who he is, and who he has always been.
He doesn’t believe in charity because his entire life IS a charity. He lights up every room with great food and even greater company. He is a one-man army.
And it is from him that I learned to stand alone through rough winds and tides and to never waver in standing for truth and justice.
And the world loves his smile and his anecdotes and stories! Lucky to be his son and get inspired each day! 🤗🫡
Captured in this video from 1992 at a family wedding when I was just about three-year-old. These were the initial years of struggle and forced exile out from our beloved homeland Kashmir due to Islamist terrorism. 36+ years already out of homeland. As I say always with deep pain and anguish, I am as old as our forced exile from Kashmir.
