At SwaTaleem Foundation, we believe meaningful change requires both scale and depth—reaching more girls while remaining attentive to their lived realities, aspirations, and everyday experiences.

Our Run to Fly initiative uses movement and running as a pathway to build not only physical stamina, but also confidence, resilience, and self-belief. It encourages girls to quite literally—and figuratively—run towards their dreams.

In 2025, girls participating in the program reported a 24% improvement in their 400-metre run time, and said that they openly share period discomfort and body concerns — a sign of normalised, safe conversation.

These outcomes remind us that physical activity can be about much more than fitness. When girls are given safe, supportive spaces to move, challenge themselves, and celebrate progress, they develop the confidence to take on challenges both on and off the track.

Because when a girl claims her agency, she not only finds new opportunities, but also discovers her own strengths.

It takes a village to raise a girl.

At SwaTaleem Foundation, we believe that empowering adolescent girls requires the active involvement of families, schools, communities, and institutions. Parents play a critical role in shaping girls’ confidence, safety, health, and aspirations.

In 2025, through our IVRS-based parent engagement initiative, we regularly connect with parents of girls studying in KGBVs, sharing information and resources on important topics such as digital safety, UTI awareness, digital arrest fraud, adolescent well-being, and more.

By creating accessible channels for awareness and engagement, we are strengthening the support systems around girls and ensuring that learning extends beyond the classroom.

When parents are informed and involved, girls are better equipped to navigate challenges, make informed decisions, and pursue their aspirations with confidence.

Together, we are building communities that nurture girls not just to succeed—but to soar.

Under the Mai Bhi Curie program, this May, Swataleem Foundation marked Menstrual Hygiene Day at KGBV Jalmana through engaging awareness activities including skits, poster-making, and interactive discussions.

The session focused on building awareness around menstrual hygiene, health, nutrition, and breaking myths and taboos surrounding menstruation.

By creating a safe space for open conversations, we encouraged girls to speak with confidence and awareness about menstrual health — fostering a more informed, supportive, and empowered environment for all.

Together, we continue to break the silence and build agency through knowledge.

✨ Strengthening Safe, Supportive Learning Spaces for Girls Across Karnataka ✨

We’re delighted to share the successful completion of the Wardens’ Workshops, conducted in collaboration with Samagra Shikshana Karnataka.

This year, we have expanded our intervention to 218 KGBV and KKGBV residential schools across Karnataka, advancing holistic learning and empowerment for adolescent girls.

Across multiple zones, the workshops focused on Foundational English and Critical Skills for Adolescent Girls (CSAG) — building communication confidence, joyful learning environments, and awareness on key themes such as body positivity, menstrual health, safe and unsafe touch, and communication.

Dedicated sessions also equipped wardens with tools to foster safe, empathetic, and supportive residential spaces.

We thank Samagra Shikshana Karnataka, district teams, wardens, facilitators, and all partners for making this possible.

Together, we are empowering girls to learn, grow, and thrive. 💙
