When you can’t stop yourself from finishing a book , it sure is a sign of an excellent read .
This is a very different book. It is an insider’s view on the publishing industry in the U.S. It’s a satire of their obsession with diversity but in the form of token representation.
It also puts forth the dilemma about who gets to tell a story and how in some way or the other every writer is exploiting another person’s truth by telling it even if they are able to articulate it better .
The book also touches upon the anxieties of the current generation due to rampant exposure to public opinion and trolling courtesy Twitter, Instagram etc.
A contemporary novel narrated in first person by a white female author who has stolen the script of her next book from her friend , a famous (now deceased ) Asian American author.
The honesty with which the writer has put forth the various tropes of publishing world is brilliant without being banal.
It’s not just what the book unwraps , it is also the thriller-like page turner quality of prose that makes this book a definite goodread .

Do give this one a go .

Currently reading aloud this classic book to my 7 year old twins .
Yes, they are independent readers but we still enjoy our cosy bedtime read aloud sessions . They like being read to by their parents . I am a decent storyteller and reading aloud gives us an opportunity to talk on various topics , discuss vocabulary and explore children’s literature together .

Today C&I read this adorable book of Hindi poems by .
हक्का- बक्का is a collection of short fun poems in Hindi which make for an interesting read for kids 6year and above .
The New Delhi World Book Fair is just around the corner and I highly recommend visiting NBT stall for more such reads . They are priced very well and you can easily grab a bunch of them .

This book kept me at the edge of my seat . Reading the last 25% was like uncoiling a spiral , one loop at a time .
The story is tightly knit with the title Rock Paper Scissors if you pay attention.
A very satisfying thriller , if you find yourself thirsting for one.
