The Centre for Policy Analysis (CPA) is a research institute having its headquarter at Patna, functions as a think tank on the variety of issues such as planning, decentralization, economic development, internal security, strategic affairs, etc. Besides, evaluation and impact assessment studies centre also deals with the issues and policy implications confronting emerging economies world-wide and
in particular India. The CPA conceives its larger role as one of contributing inter-disciplinary studieson the future development of the society. The goal is to promote highly focused research on various aspects of social and economic development in thecountry in general and Bihar and Jharkhand in particular. As per the defined goals, the CPA gives accent on the studies which can provide feedbacks tothe policy makers and planners on combating the problems of poverty and unemployment, bringing about a cohesive social system and above all, inclusive development. CPA- being a policy advocacy organization- works in close association with policy makers both political and administrative, academic policy researchers and the media. It seeks to develop a ‘networking’ organization. Currently, the CPA has made a good network of local NGOs and hope to incorporate several other organizations, both at the state level and at the country level, in due course of time. The networking approach has been adopted in view of the inter-disciplinary nature of studies that CPA takes on. This approach allows CPA to draw upon the specific experiences and data base of the associated organizations in their respective niche areas. Indeed, studies on socio-politico-economic dynamics call for such an inter-disciplinary approach, especially with respect to their phasing, implementation and governance, even at the micro level.and governance, even at the micro level.
