πŸ‘¨β€βš•οΈ Doctor Mode vs πŸ‘¨ Dad Mode

Har parent is situation se relate karega! 😊
Clinic mein strict rules… aur ghar par thodi flexibility β€” par kya sahi hai?

πŸ‘‰ Ice cream problem nahi hai… timing hai!

❌ Jab child ko cough, cold ya throat pain ho – avoid karein
βœ… Healthy child ke liye – occasional treats bilkul theek hain

πŸ’‘ Parenting ka rule simple hai:
Right habits + Right timing = Healthy child

AUTISM vs INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY

They are different. They can overlap. Both deserve understanding and support.

---

AUTISM (Autism Spectrum Disorder)

Autism is a neurodevelopmental condition that affects how a person communicates, interacts, processes sensory information, and experiences the world.

Core Characteristics:

Differences in social communication and interaction

Presence of repetitive behaviors or restricted interests

Sensory sensitivities or sensory-seeking behaviors

Note:
Intelligence in individuals with autism can range from low to high. Autism is not defined by IQ.

---

INTELLECTUAL DISABILITY (ID)

Intellectual Disability is a neurodevelopmental condition characterized by limitations in intellectual functioning and adaptive skills required for daily life.

Core Characteristics:

Difficulties with reasoning, problem-solving, and learning

Challenges in understanding and applying new information

Limitations in adaptive skills such as self-care, communication, and daily living

Note:
A person may have an intellectual disability with or without autism.

KEY DIFFERENCE

Autism is not an intellectual disability, and intellectual disability is not a part of autism.
However, both conditions can co-occur and require individualized understanding and support.

---

WHAT PEOPLE NEED TO UNDERSTAND

Autism does not mean low intelligence
Many individuals with autism have average or above-average intelligence and unique strengths.

Communication differences are not a sign of low ability
Non-speaking individuals may understand more than they can express.

Intelligence tests may not show the full picture
Traditional assessments can miss strengths, especially in individuals with different communication styles.

Individuals with autism can excel
Strengths may include memory, pattern recognition, creativity, focus, and problem-solving.

Autism and Intellectual Disability are different conditions
Some individuals may have both, some may have only one.

See the person, not the label
Focus on strengths, support needs, and individual potential.

REMEMBER

Autism is about difference, not deficit

Intellectual Disability is about learning and adaptive functioning

Neither condition defines a person’s potential

β€œDifferent Minds. Different Needs. Equal Value.”

To enhance Executive Functioning through a structured obstacle course. This activity targets:
Cognitive Sequencing & Planning: Processing and executing multi-step instructions (jumping, matching, and sorting).
Attentional Control: Maintaining focus on the task while ignoring external stimuli.
Motor Coordination: Developing balance and proprioception while navigating physical markers.
Response Inhibition: Practicing the ability to β€œstop and think” before placing the ball in the correct ring.

Body Awareness (Proprioception): The β€œheavy work” of moving through the course helps kids feel grounded, calm, and focused.

Stronger Foundations: Building core and shoulder strength today means better sitting posture and handwriting tomorrow! ✍️

Learning by Doing (Kinesthetic): Kids learn best when their bodies are moving. We’re building new motor pathways with every hop and reach.

Social Skills: Even in solo play, we’re building β€œwork tolerance”—learning to stick with a challenge until the job is done.
