Today in New Delhi, the World Intellectual Foundation (WIF), along with DAIC, JNU, and IIM Mumbai, briefed the media on the Responsible Nations Index (RNI) 2026 at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre.

The RNI introduces a new global lens—moving beyond power to assess how responsibly nations act towards their people, the planet, and the world 🌍

The press conference also announced the official launch of RNI on 19 January 2026, with Shri Ram Nath Kovind, Former President of India, as the Chief Guest, alongside a global panel discussion and an academic roundtable.

The initiative was represented and discussed with the media by the World Intellectual Foundation leadership and the members of the working committee for the project Responsible Nations Index.

A distinguished gathering of scholars, policymakers, diplomats, strategists, and thought leaders comes together for a Closed-door High-Level Expert Roundtable, held as a prelude to the launch of the Responsible Nations Index (RNI).

Bringing together expertise across public health, economics, governance, law, environment, education, technology, diplomacy, security, and international affairs, the Roundtable reflects a shared commitment to exploring what it truly means for nations to act responsibly—towards their citizens, the global community, and the planet.

This collective intellectual effort will inform a White Paper capturing key insights and frameworks, forming part of the foundational groundwork for the Responsible Nations Index.

We are pleased to share that our latest op-ed, “How Global Indices Mislead the World and Mask the Real Crises,” has been published in *The Pioneer*.

Authored by Ms. Hemangi Sinha, Project Head at the World Intellectual Foundation, and Mr. Pravin Kumar Singh, Senior Project Associate, the piece critically examines how widely used global rankings—on development, hunger, democracy, environment, happiness, and more—often oversimplify or distort the realities they claim to measure.

In an era marked by humanitarian crises, climate distress, geopolitical fragmentation, and weakening multilateral institutions, the tools we use to interpret global progress must be transparent, plural, and methodologically sound. This op-ed argues that many global indices fall short of that standard, masking structural inequities and reinforcing narrow worldviews.
