A 22-year-old man suffering from a rare illness, who was abandoned by his parents at Sir Ram Murti Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences in Bareilly in 2016 as they could not afford to pay for his treatment, died at the hospital after an eight-year battle for survival.

Despite receiving extensive treatment from the hospital funded by the district administration, Nishant Gangwar's final wish to see his parents one last time remained unfulfilled.
