As part of the "Swachhata se Samriddhi" campaign, on October 2, 2026, the Export Inspection Agency (EIA) Chennai, Sub-Office (SO) Bhimavaram, conducted a cleanliness drive at a public space—APSRTC Old bus stand in Bhimavaram, West Godavari District, Andhra Pradesh.

The officers and staff of EIA-Chennai, SO Bhimavaram, in association with the APSRTC Depot Manager, Station Manager, and Controller, came together in a collective effort to promote civic hygiene in public places.

During the event, the Office In-charge, Deputy Director (Technical) Shri A.U. Wadhawe, briefly spoke about waste management and requested the public to maintain cleanliness in their homes and surrounding areas.

Export Inspection Agency – Chennai (Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India), in association with the Department of Fisheries and Fishermen Welfare, Government of Tamil Nadu, organized a Hygiene Awareness Programme for the Fishermen Community as part of the celebration of “Swachhata Hi Seva – 2026” on 02.10.2026 at Kasimedu Fishing Harbour, Chennai.
On behalf of Export Inspection Agency- Chennai, Incharge Shri. Jayapalan G, Deputy Director (In charge) organised the event along with Shri. John Becker Assistant director of fisheries and fishermen welfare Chennai Fishing harbour management wing. The officials from both the office and members of Seafood Exporter Association of India, Tamil Nadu Chapter, students from Dr. M.G.R. Fisheries College and Research Institute (TNJFU), College of Food and Dairy Technology, TANUVAS and Fishermen’s of Kasimedu Fishing harbour around 100 personals participated in this Fishermen’s Awareness programme. All participants actively took part in the harbour cleaning drive, promoting the spirit of Swachhta and collective responsibility towards a cleaner and safer fishery environment.
