चमोली जनपद में अलकनंदा नदी की लहरों पर आज रविवार से राफ्टिंग गतिविधि शुरू हो चुकी है। राफ्टिंग के शौकीन पर्यटक एवं आम जनता चमोली में देवलीबगड से कालदूबगड तक अलकनंदा नदी के 5 किलोमीटर दायरे में राफ्टिंग का भरपूर आनंद उठा सकते है। जिला प्रशासन की ओर से इसके लिए पूरी व्यवस्था भी की गई है। यहाॅ पर राफ्टिंग शुरू होने से जहाॅ स्थानीय लोगों को रोजगार मिलेगा वही पर्यटकों एवं आम जनता को भी राफ्टिंग के रोमांच उठाने का अवसर मिल रहा है।
जिलाधिकारी स्वाति एस भदौरिया के अथक प्रयासों से चमोली में अलकनंदा नदी पर राफ्टिंग गतिविधि शुरू हो चुकी है। पहले दिन रविवार को ही स्थानीय व्यवसायों ने जमकर राफ्टिंग का लुफ्त उठाया। शुरूआती दौर में प्रत्येक रविवार को अलकनंदा नदी पर चमोली में देवलीबगड से कालदूबगड तक 5 किमी के पैच में अलकनंदा एक्सपीडिसन के माध्यम से राफ्टिंग का आयोजन किया जा रहा है। इसके लिए पर्यटन विभाग के द्वारा राफ्टिंग के दोनों प्वाइंट पर राफ्टिंग डेक का निर्माण भी किया जा चुका है। एक घंटे की इस रोमांच भरी राफ्टिंग के लिए एडवांड में बुकिंग भी करानी होगी। चमोली जिले में राफ्टिंग का आनंद उठाने के लिए कोई भी व्यक्ति अलकनंदा एक्सीपीडिसन के मोबाईल नंबर 7895832321 व 9897095041 पर संपर्क कर बुकिंग करवा सकते है और प्रत्येक रविवार को राफ्टिंग का आंनद ले सकते है। एक बार में 14 से 16 लोग राफ्टिंग कर सकते है।

इससे पूर्व गौचर मेले के दौरान भी जिलाधिकारी के प्रयासों से चमोली में अलकनंदा नदी पर पहली पर राफ्टिंग प्रतियोगिता आयोजित की गई थी। इस दौरान उत्तराखण्ड के मुख्यमंत्री त्रिवेन्द्र सिंह रावत सहित तमाम जनप्रतिनिधियों एवं आम जनता ने भी राफ्टिंग का भरपूर आनंद उठाया और जिला प्रशासन के प्रयासों की जमकर सराहना करते हुए चमोली जनपद में नियमित बेसिस पर राफ्टिंग शुरू कराने की जरूरत भी महसूस की थी। जिसको देखते हुए जिला प्रशासन की ओर से अब प्रत्येक रविवार को जिले में पर्यटकों एवं आम जनता के लिए राफ्टिंग की पूरी व्यवस्था की गई है।
