अकेलेपन का सारथी,
भ्रम का आवरण बड़ा घना था,
औरों के होने का मोह बना था,
स्वयं के साथ खड़े होने में,
एक अनजाना सा भय तना था।
साथ पाने की वो आतुरता,
भीतर एक शोर जगाती थी,
अपनी ही परछाईं तब,
मुझको बहुत डराती थी।
समय की राह लंबी थी,
अकेलापन ही हमसाया था,
मैंने जिसे पराया समझा,
उसने ही हाथ बढ़ाया था।
वो साथ जो औरों का था,
बस पल भर की एक छाया थी,
क्षणभंगुर था हर वो रिश्ता,
जो मैंने यहाँ कमाया था।
अंत खड़ा जब सम्मुख आया,
सब सारथी दूर चले गए,
भीड़ छँटी जब यादों की,
तो सब बंधन टूट गिरे।
मगर वही अकेलापन,
जो साथ रहा हर मंजर में,
वही मिला है अंत में मुझको, हृदय के सूने अंबर में।
आज जाना कि जिसे समझकर,
दर्द मानकर रोता था,
वो भय, वो पीड़ा, वो तड़पन—मैं व्यर्थ ही उनमें खोता था।
आरंभ में जो चुभन बनी थी, अब सुख का वो स्रोत बनी,
मौन की गहरी गोद ही अब तो, जीवन की नई जोत बनी।
