The Wall Home

'The Wall Home' is set inside a tea plantation in the Nilgiri Hills with a small patch of forest adjacent to the site. It has been designed as a low-maintenance weekend home to help get away from the hustle and bustle of the City and enjoy the wonderful nature of the Shola forests and Nilgiri tea gardens.

East-facing linear wall with a slight curve on the outside soaks up the morning sun and views and keeps the elevation of the home simple and clutter-free.

Linearity is followed in the planning as well with the spaces arranged along the main linear wall that follows the natural contours of the site, a minimum footprint is maintained on the ground as a result.
The material palette has been kept rustic for this weekend home with liberal use of steel, exposed concrete, and stone.

An outdoor deck marks the entrance of the home that is approached by a series of steps. The 2 bedroom home places emphasis on the common areas and has various interaction and gathering places for friends and family. It has various balconies and viewing decks to enjoy nature at different levels throughout the home.
