Educational Qualification: Graduates/post-graduates (Science Major is added advantage)

Experience: 1+ years experience in STM books and journals proofreading & QC.

In addition to having an eye for detail, candidates should also have a good written and communication skills.

Roles and Responsibilities:
1. Comparison of the author’s manuscripts with the typeset proofs
2. Text continuation and flow of text
3. Typographical styles based on the specifications and sample provided
4. Spelling mistakes, consistency, logical & factual errors
5. Quality and labeling of artworks
6. Adherent to the typesetting rules and page make-up guidelines
7. Raising appropriate queries
8. Familiarity with the standard proof reading symbols
9. Ability to identify fonts and junk characters
10. Understanding the requirements of the project (i.e. layout specification, English usage and global instructions)
11. Logically analyzing the text and raising appropriate queries to the author or publisher
12. Decision-making abilities in times of discrepancies

WANTED 'XSLT/XSL-FO Style Sheet Developer'

Looking for a Style Sheet Developer that specializes in XSLT and XSL-FO transformation into PDF, HTML and other data products. Applicants will be required to develop, maintain, and/or enhance modular and reusable XSL code (XSLT and XSL-FO) to support published output and/or transformation of XML information based on data and project requirements. Prior experience with XML/SGML technical documentation including legacy document analysis and/or document conversions is strongly preferred. Requires ability to review and identify output requirements (format and structure) from industry standards, customer specifications, and source data then work in a team environment with other project members (PM, analysts, developers, authors, customers, etc.) to recommend, document and implement structural and publishing solutions for a given project using XML technologies. Position based in Chennai, Tamilnadu.

Technical Skills
1. XML and XSD - Ability to read and understand structured documentation is required

2. XSLT and XPATH - Must demonstrate skill and ability to create and maintain complex XSL style sheets

3. XSL-FO and CSS - Must be able to style output with a high degree of precision.

4. Java - Basic Java skills a plus

Knowledge
Must be able to interpret XSD files and also the PDF. XSL-FO expert and/or have experience in XPP.

Education
BE or Masters in CSE/IT or any Equal Degree
