Some journeys begin with a meeting. Some become the beginning of a film.
Our recent trip to Gujarat began when a new client invited us to visit their manufacturing facilities after seeing our work.
Over the course of the visit, we visited their facilities in Rajkot and Vadodara, getting a first-hand understanding of the organisation, its people, processes and the legacy behind the business.
The company is one of the pioneers in its field in Gujarat, with a story and heritage that deserve to be told with the right perspective. The brief is to create a legacy corporate film for their international markets, followed by the domestic market.
For us, the factory visit was an important part of the creative process. Before writing a film, we believe in understanding the organisation from the inside — seeing the work, meeting the people and experiencing the environment where the story actually exists.
The meeting with the company’s directors was successful, and they approved the film concept we presented. We’re now moving forward with the script development.
And, as always, the camera in our hands tends to notice more than just the assignment — hotel interiors, architecture, airport spaces, rain-soaked runways, objects, people and little visual moments along the way.
Because filmmaking doesn’t begin when the camera starts rolling.
It begins with observation, understanding and finding the story.

Let’s talk about this year’s National Film Awards.
Amaran’s recognition is well deserved. No arguments there.
However, it’s difficult to understand how Maharaja and Meiyazhagan were recognized the way they were. Maharaja, backed by exceptional writing, direction, performances, and technical craft, received only Best Supporting Actress and Best Stunt Choreography. Meiyazhagan, one of the most heartfelt films on family, relationships, and human connection in recent years, was recognized only for Best Sound Mixing. Both films deserved far greater recognition.
What’s even more disappointing is the complete absence of films like Vaazhai, Kottukkaali, Thangalaan, Jama, Kurangu Pedal, J Baby, and Lubber Pandhu. These are films built on honest storytelling, remarkable performances, and committed filmmaking—the kind of cinema that deserves to be celebrated on a national stage.
At Azure Studio Productions, we believe great storytelling is what moves cinema forward. Awards should recognize films that leave a lasting impact, challenge conventions, and elevate the art of filmmaking.
We sincerely hope future juries take a broader, more thoughtful view of Indian cinema—because many truly deserving films were overlooked this year.

Today, Indian cinema mourns the loss of legendary playback singer S. Janaki, fondly known as “Janaki Amma” — a voice that touched millions across generations.
In a career spanning nearly seven decades and 48,000+ songs across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, Kannada, Hindi and more, she remained remarkably humble — always letting her music speak louder than her fame.

Director Bharathiraja | 1941–2026
He showed Tamil cinema the village, the soil, and the truth.
Bharathiraja — known as Iyakkunar Imayam — passed away on June 10, 2026, in Chennai. He was 84.
His camera never lied. It went where Tamil cinema refused to go — into the fields, the dust, and the lives of ordinary Tamil people. Films like 16 Vayathinile, Muthal Mariyathai, and Mann Vasanai didn’t just tell stories. They documented a world that existed before cinema acknowledged it.
He gave Tamil filmmaking its conscience.

From Coimbatore, India to Guinea, West Africa.
Remote mining regions. Long roads. Real locations.
Over 15 days, our team travelled extensively across Guinea, filming in remote mining regions and customer locations far beyond the usual corporate production environment. While Conakry served as our entry point, the assignment took us deep into the field, covering long distances between sites and spending much of the journey on the road.
The biggest takeaway from this assignment: adaptability is a production skill. Every location, journey, and filming situation was different. Successful corporate filmmaking in demanding environments depends not only on technical ex*****on, but also on understanding people, building trust, respecting local conditions, and staying prepared for the unexpected.
