Despite having such pure classical taaleem in the Khayal Genre, he also renders lighter forms such as Thumri, Tappa, Bhajan, Dadra , Rabindra Sangeet, Film/ non film and modern songs. he received training of the highest order in two distinct prominent Gharanas Kirana and Banaras. Gurujis blessed and gifted ability to blend the two gayakees brilliantly. he did his academic study in the stream of commerce and later he completed M.Mus. in vocal music as first class (Gold medallist) in one of them at the age 22 years. He also got Sangeet Bhushan, Visahrad, Bhaskar, Sangit Prabhakar & Pravin. He became the board member and all subject examiner of P.S.S(Allahabad), P.K.K(Chandigarh), B.S.K.(Kolkata) And Founder Cum President of Sangeetshree Amit Kumar Music Academy Kolkata. A number of gurujis students have already earned fame in different parts of the country.
