जगहः बिड़ला हाउस, दिल्ली

महात्मा गांधी प्रार्थना स्थल की तरफ बढ़ रहे थे। उनका बायां हाथ मनु और दायां आभा के कंधे पर था। अचानक सामने नाथूराम गोडसे आया और बापू के पैरों की तरफ झुका। आभा बोलने लगीं कि पहले ही देर हो चुकी है।

तभी गोडसे उठा और मनु को धक्का दे दिया। गांधी भी लड़खड़ा गए। तब तक गोडसे ने पिस्टल निकाली और तीन फायर झोंक दिए। तीनों गोलियां गांधीजी के पेट में धंस गईं। वो हे राम… कहते हुए जमीन पर गिर गए।
