There are 3 main types of selectors in jQuery and i.e
1. element selector = p, div, h
$('p').click()
2. id selector = p
$('p ').click()
3. class selector = p.someclass
$('p.someclass').click()

$(*).click() = click on elements
$('p:first').click() = click on first paragraph

We need to load the jQuery after the web page loading get completed. this is why we add document ready function in each jQuery function.

$(document).ready(function(){

})

jQuery syntax is like this

$('selector').action( )

where selector is a element like "p", "div", "h" and action is the jQuery functions like "click" etc

Example
$('p').click(function()){
$(p).hide();
}

"$" is same as "jQuery".
console.log($) = console.log(jQuery)
