Deeply Saddened by the Tragic Drowning of Young Furkan Rafiq

It is with profound grief that we mourn the tragic demise of 13-year-old Furkan Rafiq, whose body was recovered after a two-day search operation following his drowning in the Pohru Nallah at Wadoora Payeen.

We extend our heartfelt condolences and deepest sympathies to the bereaved family during this unimaginably difficult time. May Almighty Allah (SWT) grant the departed soul the highest place in Jannat-ul-Firdous, bless him with eternal peace, and give strength, patience, and courage to his family to bear this irreparable loss.

The J&K Justice & Development Front sincerely appreciates Hon’ble Chief Minister Mr. Omar Abdullah and Hon’ble Minister Mr Satish Sharma for delivering long-overdue justice to Insha Mushtaq, who lost her eyesight in 2016 due to pellet injuries, by releasing the pending ₹41.16 lakh for her LPG distributorship, which had remained incomplete since 2018. Fulfilling this long-pending commitment is a welcome and compassionate step.
Insha’s resilience in the face of adversity is an inspiration. Her appeal for a nationwide ban on pellet guns deserves serious consideration. The Government of India, especially Home Minister Of India Hon’ble Shri Amit Shah Ji Should carefully examine her demand. Taking meaningful steps in this direction would be a fitting tribute not only to Insha but also to the countless others whose eyesight has been permanently affected by pellet injuries.

J&K Justice & Development Front (JKJDF) President Mr. Shamim Ahmad Thoker appreciates and sincerely thanks the Union Ministry of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan ji, Government of India, for considering our representation regarding the urgent development needs of the Apple, Sheep Rearing, and Dairy sectors in Jammu & Kashmir.
These sectors are the backbone of livelihood for lakhs of families across J&K. With the fruit season approaching, this is the time for immediate implementation of relief and support measures, as growers are already facing serious economic hardship. We hope the concerns raised will now be translated into concrete action without delay to provide real relief to farmers, orchardists, shepherds, and dairy producers across the region.
