Objects not in mirror are farther than they appear !

When one thinks a lot and speaks (like the sages did) their words will have more than one meaning - one that is apparent and simple, and another which is involved and mysterious. Understanding both will help us cross this ocean of samsaara (worldly miseries) - just like the boat requires both the sail (apparent) and the rudder (hidden) to move.

ಆಳವನು ನೋಡಿ ಬಗೆದಾಡುವ ಮಾತಿಂಗೆ ।
ರೂಢಿಯರ್ಥವದೊಂದು ಗೂಢಾರ್ಥವೊಂದು ॥
ವಾರಿಧಿಯ ದಾಂಟುವುಡುಪಕೆ ಗಾಳಿಪಟವೊಂದು ।
ಕೋಲು ಹುಟ್ಟೊಂದು ಬಲ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೫೫೮ ॥

ನಿಶಿಯೊಳೇಂ ಕಾಣಬಾರನು ಹಗಲನೊಲ್ಲದೊಡೆ ।
ಶಶಿರವಿಗಳವನ ಮನೆಕಿಟಕಿಯಾಗಿರರೇಂ? ॥
ಮಸಕುಬೆಳಕೊಂದಾದ ಸಂಜೆಮಂಜೇನವನು ।
ಮಿಸುಕಿ ಸುಳಿಯುವ ಸಮಯ? - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೪೦ ॥

If he feels that daytime has too much light to his comfort, why does he not be seen even at night? Does he follow times according to cycles of Sun or Moon? Is the only time that he sneaks out when daylight fades into twilight?

Why do you worry when Sun is revolving non-stop every day? He will outlast everything in this world and take everything with him. We will have numerous lives during his lifetime. But our forgetfulness will consume everything and reset once in every birth. We should consider this as a boon because if we could remember across births, life would be very difficult."

ರವಿ ನಿಲದೆ ಸುತ್ತುತಿರೆ ಕೊರಗು ಕಳವಳವೇಕೊ ।
ಸವೆಯಿಸುತಲೆಲ್ಲವನು ಕಡೆಗೊಯ್ವನವನು ॥
ಕವಳಿಸುವುದೆಲ್ಲವನು ಮರೆವು; ಬಾಳೊಳ್ ಅದೊಂದು ।
ಶಿವಕೃಪೆಯ ಲಕ್ಷಣವೊ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೬೮೩ ॥

"Who teaches the elephants, ants, crows and frogs to find food? No one does. The hunger inside them leads them to their food. Man has hunger in every part of the body and hence has developed various tastes. These are tastes that make him what he is - prosperous or miserable.

ಆನೆಗಾರ್ ಇರುವೆಗಾರ್ ಕಾಗೆಗಾರ್ ಕಪ್ಪೆಗಾರ್ ।
ಕಾಣಿಸುವರನ್ನವನು? ಹಸಿವವರ ಗುರುವು ॥
ಮಾನವನುಮಂತುದರಶಿಷ್ಯನವನಾ ರಸನೆ ।
ನಾನಾವಯವಗಳಲಿ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೨೭೮ ॥

ಬಚ್ಚಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡಿಹುದೆ ಸತ್ಯ ಮಿಥ್ಯೆಯ ಹಿಂದೆ? ।
ನಚ್ಚುವುದೆ ಮರೆಯೊಳಿಹುದನೆ ಸತ್ಯವೆಂದು? ॥
ಅಚ್ಚರಿಯ ತಂತ್ರವಿದು; ಬ್ರಹ್ಮಸೃಷ್ಟಿಗಳೇಕೊ ।
ಮುಚ್ಚಿಹವು ಸಾಜತೆಯ - ಮಂಕುತಿಮ್ಮ ॥ ೩೧ ॥

Is the truth hiding behind the viel of deceit? Can I believe that what ever is hiding to be the truth? It looks lke a strange ploy by the creations of God - they all mask the truth.
