Strengthening the capacity of Lady Supervisors is key to improving the quality of early childhood services at Anganwadi Centres.
Prajayatna recently conducted a capacity-building workshop for Lady Supervisors in Lohardaga district, redefining and strengthening their role in supporting Anganwadi Centres.
The impact has been encouragingโsupervisors have reported improved efficiency and clarity in their work. Ms. Rinky Kumari, a supervisor from Bhouro block, shared that the training deepened their understanding of child centric pedagogy, the curriculum and the importance of conducting meaningful preschool activities for children.
โThis training has increased our understanding and commitment towards ECCE in Anganwadis,โ she noted.
Strengthening frontline leadership is a key step towards improving early childhood outcomes. ๐ฑ

Children learn best when they can explore, touch, and discover. While TLM kits are available in schools, many teachers have not had the opportunity to learn how to use them effectively in their classrooms. This is largely because teachers are not provided with adequate guidance or training on how to effectively integrate these materials into their lessons.
To bridge this gap, Prajayatna, in collaboration with DIET Sahibganj, conducted an engaging, hands-on workshop for over 100 teachers at the Knowledge Centre. The workshop focused on hands-on learning, where teachers participated in a structured process of exploration, expression, explanation, and reasoning, where the teachers experienced firsthand how TLMs can make foundational literacy and numeracy more meaningful for children.
The workshop also supported teachers in identifying key concepts for the upcoming quarter and planning how to integrate TLMs into their lessonsโensuring they returned with clear, practical classroom strategies.
A step forward in strengthening foundational learning by empowering teachers with the tools, confidence, and skills to support every childโs learning journey.

Children are the brightest rays of hope in our world. Every child carries unique dreams, talents, and endless potential waiting to blossomโbut how we nurture their growth in the early stages truly matters.
In todayโs nuclear families, many women work hard to support their households. However, childcare often becomes a major challengeโespecially for low-income families who cannot afford private crรจches or daycare centers. This also prevents many women from working and providing better care for their loved ones.
Responding to a critical need for safe and nurturing childcare, Prajayatna, in collaboration with the Azim Premji Foundation, has launched two crรจches in the DJ Halli area in March 2026.
These spaces offer more than just careโthey provide children with a safe environment to play, rest, and grow. Nutritious meals, including eggs, are served to support healthy development, along with a strong focus on hygiene and overall well-being.
By supporting young children, we are also enabling mothers to pursue work with greater confidence โstrengthening families and communities together.
These creches are already making a meaningful difference. Mothers feel happy and reassured knowing their children are in a safe and nurturing space. This allows them to focus on their work, while their children engage in activities that support physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development.
The initiative was warmly supported by the Modi Masjid Committee members, who recognized the importance of such spaces for children in their community. The opening was a joyful moment, with participation from parents, children, caregivers, and the Prajayatna and APF teams.
Together, we are nurturing children and strengthening familiesโbuilding a more hopeful future for all.

Prajayatna successfully conducted an Inclusive Teachers Training for 102 teachers from Shankarnagar, Abbigere, and Chikkabanawara circles. The session was facilitated by Ms. Gayatri Kiran, Founder Director of Nidhi Foundation for Early Interventions.
The training focused on early identification and intervention for children with disabilities in Anganwadi settings. Teachers were guided on how to observe signs and symptoms in young children and understand how to identify and diagnose developmental concerns at an early stage.
The session covered key areas such as visual impairment, hearing impairment, phocomelia, intellectual disability (ID), cerebral palsy, Down syndrome, autism, ADHD, and speech-related challenges.
Through this intensive and insightful session, teachers gained practical knowledge and confidence to better support children with diverse needs. Early identification can make a significant difference in a childโs development, and this training empowers teachers to create more inclusive and supportive learning environments.

On March 5th, Prajayatna conducted a CSR employee engagement session with employees of Coface , where 35 enthusiastic participants came together for a meaningful and fun-filled experience.
The activity focused on creating puppets for young children, followed by developing stories and presenting group performances. Divided into teams, the employees showcased incredible energy and enthusiasmโdesigning unique puppets, crafting engaging stories, and bringing them to life through lively performances using their handmade props.
The session was filled with teamwork, excitement and laughter. Each group delivered wonderful performances while telling their stories, reflecting not just creativity but also strong collaboration.
Prajayatna truly enjoyed engaging with the group and appreciated their openness and commitment to completing tasks, and their fun-filled attitude throughout the session.

Strengthening Foundational Learning through the utilisation of TLM
A meaningful collaboration between Prajayatna and the District Institute of Education and Training of Sahibganj, successfully facilitated an experiential learning workshop on foundational numeracy, empowering teachers to deepen their understanding of Teaching Learning Materials designed to support Foundational Numeracy .
Held at the Knowledge Centre, DIET Sahibganj, the workshop brought together more than 100 enthusiastic teachers, who actively engaged in hands-on exploration of the TLM kits. Through an interactive learning process of exploration, teachers experienced how these materials can make classroom learning more engaging and meaningful for children.
The workshop created a vibrant platform for collaborative learning, where the teachers constructed knowledge together, shared their experiences, reflected on challenges, and learned from mistakes. Such practical exposure strengthened their confidence and capacity to effectively integrate FLN resources in their classrooms.
This initiative marks an important step towards enhancing foundational learning for every child, equipping teachers with the tools and insights needed to nurture strong literacy and numeracy skills in early grades.

As part of this initiative, Amazon interns came together to contribute their time and energy to a meaningful social cause. The intention was powerful โ to help young professionals understand that organisations are not only about corporate growth, but also about social responsibility.
Addressing malnutrition requires supporting both children and mothers. Recognising that child malnutrition is closely linked to maternal nutrition, the volunteers packed thoughtfully curated 'Nutrients Basket' for young mothers. Each basket (kit) included locally relevant and context-specific food items designed to help meet their dietary needs and enhance their nutritional intake.
These kits were distributed to mothers of children attending Anganwadis in the Shankarnagar Circle, serving low-income communities in and around Peenya โ an area where Prajayatna is actively engaged in strengthening Anganwadis and early childhood development.
A session was held with the mothers on the importance of nutrition and the preparation of nutritious food using the items in the kit, to ensure optimum utilisation.
We sincerely thank Goodera and the Amazon volunteers for their time, energy, and commitment to community wellbeing.
Together, we move one step closer to building healthier families, stronger communities, and brighter futures for children.

When nutrition, care and stimulation are inadequate during this critical window, brain development can slow and physical growth may be stunted โ especially in vulnerable communities.
With the shift toward nuclear families, many women in low-income communities balance work, household responsibilities, and caregiving โ often without community/institutional support. Quality childcare facilities exist for those who can afford them, but where the need is greatest, such services are often absent.
To address this gap, Prajayatna, in partnership with Azim Premji Foundation, is launching crรจches for children aged 7 months to 3 years in low-income communities.
These crรจches will:
* Provide safe, nurturing spaces for early care
* Serve nutritious meals daily
* Identify and support children affected by malnutrition through referrals and follow-ups
Caregivers have been selected from within the community, strengthening ownership and trust. They completed a 5-day intensive training (Feb 17โ21) covering early childhood care, sleep routines, play-based learning, nutrition, hygiene, immunisation awareness, and child safety.
By investing in the first 1000 days, we are investing in stronger brains, healthier bodies, confident mothers, and resilient communities.
Because every child deserves the best possible start.
