"Mumma, can I have something?"

If you hear that multiple times a day, these cookies were made for moments exactly like that. 😊

Made with ragi, oats, organic jaggery, and couverture chocolate chunks, they're a thoughtful alternative to the usual snack cupboard options.

✨ Millets & whole grains
✨ Organic jaggery
✨ Real chocolate chunks
✨ Freshly baked in small batches

Because when it comes to everyday snacks, what's inside matters too. 🍪

Would your little one reach for these after school?

Save this post for later and share it with a fellow mum who knows the never-ending snack requests! ❤️

A 9-month-old's approval might just be my favourite review yet 🥹❤️

These wholewheat nankhatais were specially requested by a mama for her little teething baby, so they were baked with extra thought and care.

✨ Sweetened exclusively with powdered dates
✨ No baking powder
✨ No baking soda

A little while later, I received this message:

"Baby approved and loved it in a second." ❤️

And then came the picture of those tiny hands holding onto the nankhatai. 🥹

Reviews are always special, but this one truly melted my heart.

Thank you for trusting Rustic Loaf with your little one's snack time. 💕

Trying to cut down on packaged snacks, but running out of ideas your family will actually eat? 🤎

These slow-fermented Cheesy Garlic Buns were baked for exactly that gap between convenience and mindful eating.

Soft, flavourful, and cheesy, they're made from a dough that's given time to develop flavour the old-fashioned way. I use a combination of freshly milled whole wheat flour and semolina to create buns that are wholesome, yet light and enjoyable enough for the whole family.

Perfect for:
✨ After-school hunger pangs
✨ Evening chai time
✨ Quick breakfasts
✨ Lunchboxes that come back empty

At Rustic Loaf, my goal isn't just to make "healthy versions" of everything. It's to create bakes with more thoughtful ingredients and traditional methods, so everyday favourites can be enjoyed a little more mindfully.

Fresh batch available this Tuesday.

I would love to know—what's your biggest snack-time challenge at home?

Some orders arrive with a little extra thought behind them.

This one came from a daughter who wanted her mother’s birthday to feel special without compromising on her health needs.

No fuss. No excess. Just mindful choices made with love.

So we baked: • A customised whole wheat plum cake, sweetened with organic jaggery
• Ragi chocolate cookies — whole grains and millets, familiar comfort
• Whole wheat cheesy garlic rolls, soft and savoury
• A freshly baked whole wheat bread loaf — simple, honest, everyday nourishment

Each bake was thoughtfully customised, keeping her dietary conditions in mind — because celebrations don’t have to be loud to be meaningful.

For me, this is what mindful baking truly means.
Listening first.
Then baking with intention.

Grateful to be trusted with moments like these 🤍

Closing the year with a full, grateful heart 🤍

As this year comes to an end, I find myself feeling incredibly thankful — not just for the bakes, but for the love and trust that came with them.

For the messages that say,
“My mother is a cancer patient — can you make something gentle for her?”
“My father has liver cirrhosis and needs to avoid sugar and heavy fats.”
“I am gluten intolerant — is there something safe for me?”

And just as close to my heart —
the moms who reach out wanting something clean, mindful, and safe for their children. Something they can give without worry, without labels they don’t understand, without compromise.

When someone comes to me with a health concern, a dietary restriction, or a child’s wellbeing in mind, it never feels like just an order. It feels like care being passed from one set of hands to another.

Being able to slow down, adapt recipes, choose ingredients thoughtfully, and finally send out something that can be eaten with comfort and confidence — that’s the part of this journey I treasure the most.

Thank you for welcoming Rustic Loaf into your homes, your celebrations, and some of your most personal moments.

Thank you for the messages, the faith, and the kindness you have shown me through the year.

Stepping into the New Year feeling deeply grateful, humbled, and full of love 🤍

This plum cake season felt extra special 🤍

From early morning to late night bakes to packed ovens, from anxious first cuts to messages that made me pause and smile — this carousel holds a little bit of all that love.
What truly fills my heart is this:
almost 40% of these orders came from clients who have been with me from previous years, choosing this mindful, whole wheat/millet version again — and often coming back for seconds (and thirds 🥹).

Every message, every repeat order, every “this tastes just like home” — thank you for trusting my baking and my ingredients, year after year.

As we gently wrap up this season, I will be baking one final batch of Whole Wheat Plum Cakes:

🍰 2nd January – Eggless (pickup & delivery)
🍰 3rd January – With eggs (pickup & delivery)

If this cake has been a part of your celebrations before — or if you have been meaning to try it — this is the last call for the season 🤍

Thank you so much for making this season so full, so warm, and so meaningful.

Mindful baking begins with mindful sourcing — freshly milled flour from 🤍

This is what mindful baking looks like.

My whole wheat and gluten-free millet plum cakes are made with 40% slow-soaked dried fruits and nuts, using clean, thoughtfully chosen ingredients, and baked the Rustic Loaf way—patient, generous, and wholesome.

A plum cake like this makes for a thoughtful festive gift for those who value conscious eating.

This one here is my gluten-free millet plum cake 🤎

Rich, moist and full of flavour, with soaked fruits, nuts and gentle festive spices in every slice.
Slow baked, unhurried, and made with a lot of care — the way plum cakes are meant to be.

If you are looking for a gluten-free option that doesn’t compromise on taste, this one fits right in.
And if gluten-free isn’t a need, the classic whole wheat version is also available, baked with the same thought and intention.

Just pick what works for you and enjoy the season ✨

📩 DM if you would like me to save one for you.
