I have seen sarcasm at work places as a way to show superiority or power!
I have also seen people who enjoy being sarcastic during team meetings, public gatherings and one on one interaction by chuckling away to glory!
I have also seen so many colleagues who use demotivating language or sarcasm to get to you and defeat you at work!
Never ever should managers or leaders do that to their teams, I may have been guilty of doing it too and have often realised itâs not the best thing to do and I strive to change!
What is your story ? How have you been impacted ?

I began my corporate journey with Accenture and XLRI HR academy on September 5, 2006.
Here's a brief overview of my career path:
- 2 years of pursuing an MBA while also working at Accenture
- 10 years in various roles such as HR Business Partner, Recruiter, Campus Lead, and Talent Acquisition Head
- 6 years and counting as Chief Human Resources Officer
Reflecting on these 18 years, I have no regretsâthey've all been wonderful experiences.
What contributed to this excellence?
- I didnât focus on work that offered visibility (unlike most people who strive for recognition).
- I wasnât preoccupied with only engaging in strategic tasks (even though my peers suggested I shift focus from transactions to strategy).
- I didn't stress about promotions.
Instead, I prioritized the following:
- I embraced experimentation.
- I took on any role that came my way.
- I had no preference between transactional or strategic positions.
- I experienced a lot of failures; in fact, I continue to learn from them.
- I moved between jobs and industries, which required ongoing learning, unlearning, and relearning.
And it all worked out just fine for me! đ
When someone asks for advice, here's my suggestion: "Keep it casual."
- focus on learning not on salary
- experiment, donât get stuck
- fail a lot, itâs okay to fail as far as you are learning
- first 10 years of your career, try different roles, different industries and gain experience
If you focus you learning, your growth will be faster in the long run.
